Judge, 3 runs scored, 3 hits, 2 home runs, 3 rbi, and perfectly timed a jump 2+ feet in right field to rob someone of a home run.

Talk about one of the all time great games!

He's up to 17 dingers now. Let's Gooooo!

Not sure if that counts as a "real history lesson" if it's incorrect in multiple ways

Khrushchev didn't die on the job and Kosygin replaced him as Premier, not Brezhnev.

As for that Dodgers Pride Night disaster, the only winners here are those "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" who got a ton of free publicity. Pretty sure I'm not the only one who never heard of them before and decided to look them up?

Well I remember they announced his death during a game... Also the cigarettes commercials...Lucky Stike...it's Toasted like from Mad Men. "Why don't you have one RIGHT NOW!" They say.

Judge is obviously a monster. "Makes the Wall look small" the Padre announcers kept saying. Tony Gwynn Jr does the color on Padre radio...sounds 100% like his dad, his voice. It's almost weird like he isn't dead.

I totally believe that. Just saying that Khrushchev is famous for being the Soviet leader who retired (albeit involuntarily).

Dynasty league fantasy players alert!

The Braves just called up RHP AJ Smith-Shawver. He’s a 20 year old pitcher drafted out of high school making the majors in less than two years.

45 K, 12 BB in 33 innings (1.09 ERA) between AA and AAA, where he was the youngest player at each level.

Even though he’s stretched out to start, he’s likely headed to the bullpen for the big club for the foreseeable future. That obviously limits his fantasy upside, but still. This could be the next Spencer Strider.

This is quite a precocious young talent, that you WANT to bet on. Get there first in your league.

Remember, I only give out winners

Padres last night radio "this is probably the best offensive display by the Padres all season. Yes it's the seventh and it's 4 runs, 7 hits"...they did go on to have their first five run inning in the 9th for a nice comeback win. Machado hurt. This is the what...2nd highest payroll? Everyone is in it for the wild card. Pads could start moving towards approaching expectations.
For all I know they are getting crushed right now in Miami. I like to listen to radio broadcast the next day. Fast forward commercials. Get something done.

Red Sox got totally dominated last night. 14th in payroll...they are getting that Angel Ohtami. They better. And must admit the young guys are showing promise. Sale looking good recently. But they will be around .500 all year. Wait til next year!

Uncle Steve Cohen will not be outbid. Ohtani is going to be a NY Metropolitan.

He'll probably go with the team that has won 400% more World Series this millennium.

At some point soon "Arizona is the best team in the National League" will become a thing. Maybe this weekend. Though the Braves are not having to deal with Gallen.

Oh. Not the Yankees AI...the Mets. Lol. My bad. Idk are the Sox relegated to mid level and their owners care more about Liverpool FC? I watch the Dodgers and even Padres. They got all the ex Sox. They better make a splash this off season.

Yankees too cheap to bid for Ohtani.

Uncle Steve might pay him $70M a year. He gives zero ****s about money.

Dodgers got under the CBT threshold the year before Ohtani hits the open market and you guys have other people in the conversation?

Red Sox owners aren't spending that much money on Liverpool. That's one of the reasons why fans over there want them out.

I guess they got some credit back now for not firing Klopp during the season.

The reason why the Mets are in the conversation is that the Dodgers apparently do care about money. So if Steve Cohen is like yolo, here's $700mil for ten years, the Dodgers most likely wouldn't go there. Doesn't mean he wouldn't sign with the Dodgers for less though.

So Jon Singleton is being called up to the Brewers. He was in the Phillies minors for 3.5 years, was included in the Pence trade, was a top 50 prospect for a few years after that, was called up for 2 years, suspended for half a season for weed, out of the league for ~3 years, and spent the last 2+ years in the minors... he's only 31. Time is weird.

Good for him though!

WaPo about Stephen Strasburg potentially being done for good:

The premiums would have been extremely high, two people explained, and that’s assuming the team and a company could have agreed on a policy given Strasburg’s age and extensive injury history. And three people familiar with the situation doubt ownership would have spent on top of the $245 million, even if it provided some financial protection in a worst-case scenario.
Shouldn't the sheer fact that nobody would have been willing to insurance that contract because of age and injury history give you a moment of pause before telling Scott Boras "sure, whatever you want"?

At the Padres game v cubs. Waiting for first pitch. These guys need to get on track soon. Boegarts been bad. Machado back last night. Did nothing. But ok, 3.5 out of Wild Card like every other struggling team in the NL. I'm feeling it tonight. Get your money down.

Got to see his debut against the Buccos. Amazing atmosphere at Nats Park, and he struck out 14. Adam Dunn launched one too.
