Safe to say Rust could have got ~7M from another team. Gave up 2M a year to keep playing with Sid, I now expect Malkin And Letang to do the same. Hopefully sign Rakell and let Kap walk.

Ya I think we're in agreement. He could've got more, he took a discount, but the contract is going to start looking bad on the back half. Pitts needs to be in win now mode given the age of their stars, so it's a good signing by them.

Has to be some under-the-table stuff implied in that deal? Like well paid organisation job or hella ad deals? And nothing against that, just wondering... and yea Gio made enough etc but still?

Possible, but it sounds like he is happy here and says he is financially secure and wants to play for the Leafs and was already going to take any price to stay, he is like Jason Spezza.

yikes, i often somewhat sympathetic as in i can usually imagine how the perpetrator could have been unaware of how terrible a thing they were doing (ie take weinstein he had the same women repeatedly going back up to his hotel room so he must have figured they were keen to play ball etc etc)

i can't possibly imagine these guys ever not being fully aware of the gravity of this situation

it apparently happened in london, so i'd start with the 2 guys who were on the london knights (thomas & whoever, though didn't mete play there too at some point? probably others also) and go from there

how many scandals is this now for the hunters in london, like a billion?
but they're goob hockey royalty for whatever reason, so nothing will ever happen...
