Apparently the league is considering a potential new overtime twist: Same rules, but the team that scores last in regulation starts on defense. No coin flip. The thinking is this would encourage teams to go for 2 in last second scoring situations.
I like it. Eliminate so much win equity riding on one coin-flip. Both teams know the rules. If you score last you're going to start on defense.
