2022 NFL Draft 2022 NFL Draft

If you consider early before the 2021 college football season began. Howell and Rattler were both at the top. That quickly changed.

I don’t really put any stock into mocks either way, but I’m certainly not going to consider any before the college football season ends.

I found this interesting so f it im posting it. This guy Evan Lazar...he has a detailed draft board every year. Seems to know everything about college guys like all these other draft dudes. (he is also at every Pats rookie camp, training camp, game, etc) He totally lost his **** when Pats drafted Thornton like everybody else...I really thought he was going to cry. then as part of his job, he went back and watched more film on the guy.

He admits he was very wrong in his initial analysis. Goes through a bunch of plays.

It will be interesting to see re: thornton. He is more than just a track guy. But it's one thing to beat college press coverage. Otoh, he has a big catch radius and the ability to adjust to the ball. He has good body control. He is 6'2'' and 5/8ths. Even NFL db's arent that tall if they want to run with 4.28. He makes a ton of catches outside his frame. Baylor ran the ball, their QB wasn't accurate. Mac Jones is. Bottom line he is quick off the line vs Big 12 dudes so we'll see if he can deal with NFL press. And see what routes can he really run. My hope is he shows up looks great and Agholor becomes expendable. But it wouldn't shock me if he is just a project and he doesn't do much at all.

oh and who cares how old a rookie is when it's 23 vs 21 years old.

so good

Chicago Bears: Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina: MILLEN TRUBISKY Grade
Five-Year Grade: MILLEN TRUBISKY Grade

I gave this a "Millen Trubisky" when the pick happened, and I should have stuck to that when I did the one-year grade. Not only did the Bears pass on Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson in favor of Mitchell Trubisky; they traded up to get Trubisky. This is kielbasa up the 500-percent USDA Man backside territory.

One-Year Grade: C- Grade

Thornton is rail-thin at 181 pounds and has small hands (8-1/4th), but he also stands over 6-2 and is the fastest player in the draft. He’s one of the quickest, too: His 10-yard split was a blazing 1.41 seconds, meaning he’s getting to top speed in a hurry. He also doesn’t turn 22 until August.

According to Pro Football Focus, Thornton caught nine passes thrown over 20 yards in 2021. His average depth of target was over 15 yards, and he had just three drops.
I really don't get it. Fastest WR, quickest WR, great hands (3 drops), great size at closer to 6'3'' than 6'2'', long arms like randy moss...he even graded out as the best blocker, productive. Great release at the line. Smart. Uses his body well. I see him leaping for catches all over the field. But oh his hands are small so yeah 6th rounder. lolz.

I can only conclude it was a bunch of group think gone wrong...a couple of draftnicks graded him low and the everybody else went along like lemmings. Thank goodness Bill doesnt give a f, i mean this is a no brainer. Since when is the above...fastest, quickest, tallest, long arms, great hands, best blocker, smart, wants to work, and productive... not a top pick?

And now he’ll have a humongous chip on his shoulder to prove himself in the league.

Watch out NFL!
