The players don't have shadows on the digital boards.

Just 2 players from this year's draft in the NHL. Wright and Slav. Goal scored by Ryan Donato assisted by Shane Wright and Brandon Tanev..tonight. (Wright did nothing tbh on the goal, it was all Donato, got a good outlet from Tanev, skated length of ice, shot, got his own rebound, scored, I can even figure out where Wright is on the play thb)

ok, he is number 51. Touches puck in his own zone. It squirts out to Tanev.

Slav yet to tally anything. Wright was used on the fourth line on his first game and was a healthy scratch for the second and third contest of Seattle’s season.

Wright was used for just six minutes and 50 seconds, just 36 seconds more than in his other contest.

I would like to see Slav play some with a C who can create some space. And let him have some PP time. He is making mistakes, but has shown some things as well. Big body, protects the puck that type of thing. Wright looks really lost. His big thing is his hockey IQ and all around skills, they say. But as an 18 year old, I doubt his hockey sense is any better than anyone else out there and he is probably thinking too much. Can't win a faceoff. And he is like 6'1'' 187. Slav has that size to at least not get creamed. Both might get their 9 games and be sent down (if not sooner).

Slav with the snipe! Takes a big hit up high but doesn't go down. Gets the puck and scores! Goal number 1.

Everybody getting well vs AZ. Sorry Leafs heh.

Dallas sure is tough. They scored a couple of goals against the Jets off of doing what I just saw them doing to Toronto, they win all the little battles.

One of the goals they scored against the Jets started at the red line, it was a continuous scrum up the boards for about 45 seconds, they just kept advancing and winning little battles, winning every other battle, until they popped it in front of the net and banged it in.

with the lolsharks inexplicably beating the rangers, that leaves one winless team.

anyone want to guess what team that is?

Blew 4 games with 2+ goal lead, and then a 5th with a 1 goal lead.

As a MTL fan don’t you want to lose to get more balls in Bedard race?

It's early, they might prove me wrong, but I think they are stuck with a bad but not terrible team, a 20th or so NHL team. Somebody has to finish in no man's land. Maybe they will trade Jake Allen (or he comes back to earth or gets hurt) and Monahan or some other vets. They got great deals last year for guys like Lehkonen and Chiariot, etc. But they need to unload some guys, as it stands, the vets are healthy (Monahan's hips have seemingly healed, Gally had a full summer to build up his strength, Dach, young guy but was hurt now not, even Drouin seems ok mentally playing loose under Marty.), the kids are playing well especially at home...the goaltending has been solid...so I don't think it's realistic to finish bottom 3 or even 5 unless they make changes or injuries. They are already starting 4 rookies on the blueline. If and when Edmundson and Matheson come back, it will make the tank that much harder as they want to play the vets and have them play well for trade bait.

Yup.
Finish 22nd, guys feel good, vets trade better, then run good at lotto and win #1 anyways.

KK 1 goal in last 37 games...2nd line C, 2nd PP this year. He shoots 1.5 times a game for his career. 6 shots this year in 4 games getting close to 17 mins. 93 points in 241 games. He has 2 assists, 1 block, 2 hits on the season. Does seem like his FO are good, last year and this. And he is plus 4 this year. Plus 3 for year last year. -11 in 3 seasons with Habs as a teenager is actually ok. Will be interesting to see what he does. 22 years old, 5th year.

One of the differences I've noticed between good players and elite players is that after a shot or a move a good player is looking around where an elite player is already on the puck, chasing the puck or getting into position. They look like they're a few moves ahead.

Don't shoot the puck and wait and see, shoot the puck and beat your man to the rebound.

Shoot the puck and start skating backwards, ready to defend, if you're a defenceman.

Looking at it again...regarding Habs tank, I will backtrack here and say the Habs look to be the worst team in a stacked Atlantic division. The Red Wings dominated them. One game on the road, but their size gave the Habs top line trouble. The Sabres have improved. The Sens are better. And the rest of the teams have legit powerhouse potential. Bos, Fla, Tampa, Leafs. That's a lot of losses for the Habs.

I know also Pens, both NY's, Caps, Canes are clearly better. That just leaves NJ, Philly, and Columbus. The Athletic says NJ is 17th. Actually they have Habs 27th on power rankings. Last in East. Better than AZ, SJ, Van, Hawks, Ducks. Its close with Philly, Columbus, and Kraken.

Obviously, the big prize in Bedard. But this is a deep draft they say. 6 guys I hear. This tank is still very doable. Make a few trades at the deadline.

2022
TEAM FINISH CHANCE AT No. 1 PICK
Montreal Canadiens 18.5%
Arizona Coyotes 13.5%
Seattle Kraken 11.5%
Philadelphia Flyers 9.5%
New Jersey Devils 8.5%

Last years odds. I think Habs can shoot for the 5th or 6th worst record, where the Athletic has them ranked. Have a shot at number 1 or get a top prospect.

Each of the 32 teams plays three or four games against the seven other teams in its division, three games against the eight teams in the other division in its conference and two games against the 16 teams from the other conference. Forgot about that too. That's obviously very helpful for Habs tank.
