I guess seeing how they do for a month and flipping him if they don't make a miraculous push for the playoffs is a theoretical chance. But this is the NHL where **** like that never happens, and tbh I'm not too heartbroken that players (Horvat plus all throw-ins) aren't being treated as an investment opportunity quite to THAT extent, though supposedly so pro-NHLPA hockey twitter seems like they'd love nothing more.

Beyond the ethics of it, I doubt many teams would think of their own top prospects as fungible enough to think ah, we'll just trade this guy and if it doesn't work out we'll get another guy just as good back next month.

Realistically, the Isles did this with every intention of keeping Horvat around and building a "young core" with him. They'll end up giving him 80 million bucks to stay because the optics of him bolting in FA would be awful.

If you don't have cable it's impossible to watch hockey. I cut the cord a while back. Yeah, the Sabres are finally exciting again. I've watched ZERO games this year.

In a lot of markets you have to have access to Ballys/Sinclair to watch the games. Ballys has exclusive rights to the Stars, Mavericks and Rangers. Where I live the only way to watch them is to have DirectTV. Only 1 local cable TV provider (Suddenlink) doesn't carry them.

Only way to stream them is thru their crappy Ballys app which cost $20 bucks a month. Sorry, but eff off. If the teams are going to make it that damn hard to watch their games, then they get what they deserve.

FWIW I have youtubeTV and love it. If I had to pay an extra $5-$10 bucks a month, I'd probably do it for the convenience of a single platform. It's going on 3 years and these leagues still haven't figured anything out. The longer it goes, the less I give a ****.

Ratings are down because they changed the schedule,blackouts are some of my opinions ana an example Edmonton only plays Calgary 3 times
