DK has Duval the favorite for most HRs in the series. Seems strange - especially since he didn't look that great against LA.

An interesting piece of World Series history. I knew there had been two years in which it wasn't held since its inception in 1903, one in the '94 strike year and the other?? Was sure it wasn't either World War. Turns out it was 1904, when the Giants refused to play the junior American League, in spite of the fact that the "inferior" league rep Boston Americans had won the first series the year before. Something like that. Go figure.

The Pirates challenged Boston when they had both basically locked up their respective pennants late in the season to a post season series.They tried something similar in 1902 and it fell through.
