Gonna be fast from Vegas, and habs havent seen as quick puck movement all year. Maybe if habs manage to keep Vegas to the outside mostly, get lucky and Price has a great game it could be 1-1. Bet on Vegas -1,5 just to give habs a chance.

I'm sure not the habs' best friend but it is amusing that in the 21st century North American hockey men still can stomach the thought of a French Canadian team winning with girly hockey.

TB looked bad, their passes weren’t crisp or on point, they looked listless, if they play with any sort of urgency or clean up their game it will be a lot better and too much for the Isles.

I think it’s more likely the Knights lose to the Habs than the Lightning loses to the Isles. VGK can play down to their competition and take the foot off the gas. DeBoer loves to play that generally worthless 4th line to a fault. Fleury gives up softies, and they could lose. Hopefully that doesn’t happen and we get the final that people who enjoy good hockey deserve.

Isles are the most structured & positionally disciplined team in the league at 5v5. That is not by accident.

Some guys complain about how unfair it was to play a team $18M over the cap...other teams are solutions-oriented, play to their own strengths and take pride in tackling the challenge of neutralizing big guns.

I wish Triumph was here to see this radical about-face from yours truly...but even if it's not the most aesthetically pleasing style to watch all the time, what Lou & Trotz have done there is pretty damn impressive. That is a *team* (insert Dorion.gif).

PS: love the Rag$ hiring Gallant. I think he gets it; good players communicator who will lean on his support staff to help with teaching & instructing.

As a reference point, compare Canada's D-zone coverage in Game 2 vs. the States with how we looked in D-zone coverage during playoff round vs. Russia, US & Finland...that's as dramatic an in-tournament change as you'll ever see, and it was coaching-staff driven.

Isles ranked 20th ITL in CF%, 13th in SF%, 11th in xGF% in the regular season and in the playoffs they're bottom 3-5 in these. They continue to sun run hot goaltending while dicking around all game and randomly scoring goals.

They have one (1) player that would break the top 6 on at least 4 teams eliminated already. It's a ****ing disaster they are pulling this off. Varianceoffs gonna varianceoff.

this is just wacky. You think it's easy to contain these teams? and because the winning strategy and excellent team-wide execution worked ("dicking around") people want to complain that it's not exciting? because every hockey game should be a lag-tard fest for your personal amusement?

isles getting through multiple series to 1 up on TB at this point is not variance.

needing constant titillation and zillions of goals (or the really irritating vegas home game circus-style bs) to prop up a sport is a shallow way to go about it. that's maybe not going to bring long term fans just passersby

idk I think the vgk 4th line is pretty efficient at keeping the puck down in the other team's zone, even if they don't score much. I know most people think ryan reaves is a mindless goon (ok he is occasionally). But that line is the best when he has his mind on hockey and is out forechecking and grinding. they give other lines some time to get a good breather w/out giving up anything.

Isles give up ZERO transition scoring chances. TB will have to grind out their chances and hope for power plays (which NYI don't give up).

I was surprised, given that Gallant seems to hate dealing with the media. I would have expected him to come back somewhere quieter if he was going to return to coaching in the NHL.

lol. it works for us here, hence every game being a sell out. nhl mostly is a dead sport outside of local markets or Canada anyways so who really cares.
