Our lone ace had a rocky start to the clay season with early exits at Monte Carlo and Belgrade 1. He straightened things out with a title at Belgrade 2 and reaching the Rome final. But it turned out to be a great clay season after he became the only player to defeat Nadal at RG twice, then going on to win his 2nd RG title. He racked up 3030 points for the Euro clay season.
