I’m not just betting against Dubnyk, Avs couldn’t morning skate because of protocol and Grubauer is the guy who has it so maybe Dubnyk has to start before he was slated to. Plus it’s a large home dog, a lot to like for the Blues side here imo

Last 31 thoughts they talked about Vancouver possibly making up the games against Calgary and Ottawa while the playoffs are already underway, so that tells you how desperate they are. 8 left against those two, but 5 of them until the 28th.

Contraction seems like a viable option.

In other news the Wild have 3 goals on 6 shots tonight after having 8 goals on 16 shots last week. 50% shooting efficiency ftw.

Bruins heating up at the right time. When Carlo, Miller and Gryz back the D is soooo deep. Bruins also starting to have goalie depth which is really well timed given the age of Rask and Halak. Swayman looks like a player and is surely the 2a or 1b next year.

The real shocker to me has been Reilly. Really hope they resign him too.

Gotta resign Carlo (3.5?), Rask (6?), Reilly (3?), Hall (5-6), Krejci (5), Frederick (1). That fits.

Miller's health just makes bothering with him so tricky.

Halak gone, Ritchie maybe he's the guy that goes in expansion.

no way they can keep reilly for 3 imo

look at vlasic's contract for an idea of how irrational some teams can get in free agency when they feel that above average defender is the necessary glue

also wouldn't be shocked if you're right about krejci getting 5 but dude is getting old still a top 6 center though so who knows?

But the truth they can afford to give Krejci 6 and Reilly 4 anyway. There's space. Plus in a COVID universe, some guys might just prefer to not rock the boat, like Krejci.

The D really isn't deep, which is evidenced by the fact that Reilly makes a real difference. McAvoy is great, Grz really good, Carlo decent when used right, but they don't trust anyone but the former two enough to split up the top pair to deal with opponents' top forwards.

Yeah I was talking about this season or maybe the next couple. The Bruins still rely so heavily on 37 and 63 that I don't think we should expect them to be that competitive when those guys decline more than a little. Like, not Buffalo terrible, maybe not even a full-on teardown like Detroit, but the Zborils and Studnickas aren't gonna be pillars of a cup contender I don't think. So as for winning, I'll 99% think of the here and now
