Reading through reactions on some of the less enlightened boards out there... I shouldn't be surprised, but a lot of the takes regarding the Bennett trade are soooo bad. It's insane how little GOCBs with junior pedigree have to do for people to sing their praises. Show some grit, have a couple of good playoff showing and you're the pillar of a team forever.

lol nah but pulling the goalie with 2:35 without possession made things easier. 3rd was a bit better for Habs... had some great chances to go up 4-2. Still felt like Habs just defending way too much, that it was just a matter of time until leafs tied it. Both goalies played well, Jake Allen really came up big.

speaking of plugs, sounds like vgk got one in a trade for draft picks today. mattias janmark. the best thing the dudes before the telecast could say about him is that he's "a great teammate". awesome. he was with dallas vs. vgk in the playoffs last year but I don't recall him doing much in the series.

Physical, very active game vs Habs last night as they were scrambling hard for the final 2 periods trying to come back. Lot of big hits. Matthews got hit hard. And he scored a goal, so it's not like he is going to be angry. Like more fired up than usual. And I think Leafs don't really care, they want number 1 seed, they probably got it.
