Re: 2021 NHL "Condensed" Season

I don't follow the NBA but it seems like they're having real covid trouble

Read something about them wanting to separate players off the court because they believe on the court, players don't spend enough time breathing on each other uninterruptedly for transmission. Even if that's true, hockey players right next to each other on the bench for two thirds of the game seems like it'd make transmission almost inevitable. The first month in the DEL has worked fine-ish though, guess we'll see.

good point about the benches, that could be a problem

plus in the room (having more guys around), etc

I am told one of these two players tested positive for COVID, then negative, then positive again and when tested a fourth time tested negative. The other is a close contact.
also testing, uh, seems to be a bit of an issue

They could make the benches as long as the want.

Or maybe deep.

The way it should have been done.

I suspect they will have to go to 4 bubbles by April.

They wanna make money yo

Bubble really isn't feasible for anything longer than we had in the summer. Imagine spending 6 months shuttling between hotel and Rink in Edmonton exclusively surrounded by hockey bros while the league probably isn't even making much money from it.

Re: 2021 NHL "Condensed" Season

So Torts has confirmed PLD wants out of Columbus. Why doesn't anyone want to play there? I'm serious btw, I've obviously never been but you don't see players fleeing from Buffalo, Raleigh, St.Louis or even Winnipeg the first chance they get like they seem to from the CBJ.

PLD to Vancouver?

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported Tuesday on Insider Trading that Benning is looking to add a top-six winger to the team's roster as they pursue another playoff run this season.

Re: 2021 NHL "Condensed" Season

PLD also isn't a winger despite the fact that he scores goals.

Maybe they'll trade him to Nashville for Duchene and futures. Or Montreal for a 2nd line C, decent prospect and 2nd rounder

People have been running away from Cbus before Torts tho

Re: 2021 NHL "Condensed" Season

idk rick nash stayed there almost forever

doesn't seem like players have anything against being there generally speaking

those who do, some combination of torts and it just being a smaller, low-profile market probably
