It's like 8% of his career earnings so far, maybe closer 10 if you adjust for escrow all these years, but as popular as he is, he'll have cash rolling in from media or public team roles for another while. That's a nice pillow

I know Chicago didn't trade anything but kinda lol they didn't even ask Fleury wether he'd play. Or maybe they did and went for the freeroll. Anyway, if MAF isn't coming, maybe they can trade for Greiss from Detroit as he and Seth Jones would be best buddies.

Given what Dmen are signing for in free agency, trading away any defenseman seems like a bad idea

GMs might not as bad as they used to be but depth guys still get rich in July 1

Hmmmm. Hard to say if I like this move. On the one hand, it would relief Kopitar on some responsibilities in their zone. However, the lack of scoring on a team that desperately needs more scoring..... I'm puzzled.

Yeah but honestly with 3x3 I'm not really going to sweat it. If it was 3x2 probably nobody cares. With the money he saved elsewhere and is likely about to save on 46, he can spend a mil too much here.

edler is still good defensively, mobility is increasingly an issue though

have seen smarter ppl than i say he can still play a 3rd pairing role just fine
maybe 2nd, who knows
and prob pk

then again tanev went from looking WASHED to an elite shutdown guy again once he got away from this clownshow
(like the worst defensive team itl)

and yeah, perfectly fine trade deadline fodder
even if he's bad, every gm loves veteran defensive guys

bruins sign (former) vgk 3rd/4th line winger tomas nosek 2 yrs/$3.5M. he's..ok I guess. but OG vgk so wish him well for sure.

vgk extend alec martinez 3 yrs/$15Mish...that's where (most of) the MAF money went I guess. he has been good so far so I guess makes sense.

annnnd vgk signs a backup goalie from winnipeg for 2 yrs/$4.6M (!)

Eh that's selling him short imo, the defensive impact is legit. But yes, the kings aren't gonna win **** in the years when he's still worth close to his cap hit. Gotta dump him on Arizona in four years I suppose.

Yeah but I'm not sure what we're gonna do with all these bottom six/pairing plugs on multi year deals (assuming Foligno gets one). Not sure it's the best way to spend the cap space
