I just don't think the Kings are in the Eichel sweepstakes anymore (wouldn't it make sense for any team to get Eichel to do it before the draft so involve the 2021 1st round pick? The Kings had #8 in the draft. You think Sabres would want that as part of the deal). They gave Danault a NMC for the first three years of his contract,. So I'm pretty certain they have established Kopitar and Danault as their top two centers for that time frame and they are banking on Byfield to step up in that time frame (hopefully, sooner than later, fingers crossed) and they will move Danault to 3C if needed.
I'm not that worried about Quick's contract in the last two years of it. If they do trade him, then they got to find another guy that can fill the void while Petersen is settling in being the starter for the future and from what I've been reading, they don't have anyone in the prospect pool that they are confident in yet to fill the void. I guess they can try their luck getting someone just fresh out of NCAA which is how they get Petersen.
