I'm trying to come up with what might be the GOAT RB season. I'm coming up with Ladainian's 2006 season as of now: 1800 yards, 5.2 ypc, 56 receptions for 500+ yards, 31 TDs, 2 fumbles/1 TO. That 31 TDs and super low fumble total weighs heavy, even though I realize they were giving him the TD opportunities instead of distributing them.
Other candidates Jim Brown and OJ were fumblers, Dickerson was a mega fumbler. Emmit didn't seem to have a season quite that good. Payton kind of the same, though for some bad teams, admittedly. Sanders in 97 is right there, but receptions and TDs far less. Campbell wasn't catching passes. Of the 2000 yard backs I think Chris Johnson's season was the best, as he also had 50 catches for 500 yards, low TOs 3, and 16 TDs.
It's impossible to say but just trying to get a feel for it. Trying to make the separation on all these similar great seasons, receptions, turnovers and TDs weigh heavy.
