I really wish they'd eliminate TNF for non-bye weeks. And then create TNF matchups for teams coming off of the bye. That would add to the allure of TNF, make the product better, ideally lower injury, etc. CMC is the latest to come out and say he thinks his injury is partly attributed to playing on Thursday.

They can still do week 1. Then miss weeks 2-5. Then miss weeks 15 and 16 (17/18 have no TNF). So they'd lose 6 games to, imo, enhance the product greatly, make the players happier, etc.

The only quirky thing is that the Lions and Cowboys would always be locked into the bye week before Thanksgiving, but who cares? They'd probably always happy to have that bye week, which is 11 this year.

But the NFL will say, yeah, we are missing out on too much money for those missing weeks. We are still pretending to care about player safety while not really caring about player safety when it comes to the bottom line.
