I didn't know how long Polamalu played cause he was the first I thought of. Megatron too but didn't play early enough.

I didn't realize how esteemed the one ST guy was

After looking at Urb’s coaching staff I feel very confident declaring 32. Jaguars

lol @ Russell Wilson's comments though, he must really want out to just tell Dan Patrick he is sick of his OL blowing

FREE Russell Wilson!

makes a lot of sense for a new GM and HC combo - Falcons aren't good enough to win and have an ageing roster. Best to get started on their rebuild before the Saints and Bucs do to get a head start on the next 5-10 years in their division
I really have no idea which way they go, or even what I'd want them to do.

Cap math says it's highly unlikely they try to trade Ryan (or Julio) this year. Picking that high means they could take a QB and have him sit on the Jordan Love plan, and ease the inevitable transition away.

It sucks that there's no mega-elite edge rusher that will be there... which is probably the single biggest position of need.

It would be great if we had a taker for 4 and pick up a 1st next year, trading back could be cool.

In the NFL, new administrations tend to mean new QB's, so I think that's most likely what we do at 4

I haven’t looked at the Falcons cap - bad for both Ryan and Julio?

Teams don’t seem scared of the cap as much any more, albeit with it falling this year, maybe it’s a bigger deal.

Yeah, those are some monster salaries and dead cap hits. People rip mahomes contract but Ryan makes the same. Man, those 2 guys are going to eat up $63mil of cap space this season or $90 mil of dead cap money.

Ryan and Julio aren't going anywhere due to the cap hits. They will still likely draft a QB (Fields) and let him sit and year or two.

A lot of QBs on the market, too, so they might be selling Ryan at the low point. Wait until next offseason and ATL can probably get 2024 and 2025 first round picks from the Rams.

Matt Ryan has a 49M dead cap hit if he's released right now. Julio is 38.5. Not sure if their GM could have structured their contracts better.

Texans obv respect Watt enough to allow him to choose his next team rather than trade him for a late rounder.

I would think he wants to go to a team with a legit QB and Ben sucked last year. Obviously he isn't combing PFF grades or anything but Pitt did lose 4 of their last 6, 1 and done in playoffs. They don't really need DLine help either.

Tampa, LAR or GB seems most likely.

Gilmore might be next at his cap #

Are the Rams losing D line players? Why mess with the best D in the league?

He said he wants a chance to win, but man how do you pass up the opportunity to play with your two brothers in the NFL.

Leonard Floyd is a FA but he's more of a true edge than Watt. Dante Fowler had a big year playing next to Donald in 2019 and Falcons went after him, only for him to regress in 2020 so that may hurt Floyd's market value some.

LAR just seems like a contender that would go after a big name and maybe joining TB is kinda lame to Watt since they just won but we'll know soon enough I guess.

I would say the really sucking factors for Pitt was the complete inability to run the ball. Like league worst. Plus, there "short pass only" concept was solved after about 10 weeks. Plus, receivers had major drop issues. Given all that, winning 12/15 games was pretty good by Ben.

Hard to say how much of it was coaching and how much was Ben but he looked pretty done to me. PFF grade was sub 70 which is awful in 2020 thanks to QB-inflation, games vs Cincy/Bills late in the year he looked like brees did vs TB.

He's never been a cerebral assassin like the other elite guys of his era, I think his limited physical ability is definitely getting to him. Also, 10-0 start was a bit flukey, lot of close wins in there that could've gone either way.

But yeah, who knows what Watt thinks of him/that situation in general. Playing with his bros may be big to him.

If I were the Buccs, the guy I probably would be willing to let go is Shaq Barrett. He's a very good player but paying defensive players that aren't truly elite 18-20m a year seems like 1 of the biggest leaks/efficiencies in the NFL FA system. A lot of lesser players would probably have good production playing next to Vita Vea the way he collapses the pocket.

Also his biggest game of the year coming against KC's depleted OL in the SB is probably gonna get some team to overpay him. Maybe teams are getting a little smarter though, Clowney way overplayed his hand last offseason. Tre Flowers hit FA at the right time.

I'd prioritize bringing Godwin back over him. Gronk/AB are old and you never know what can happen with both of them.

9ers would be so sick next year with him on the team. I never understood why he wants to go the Jets. If I were him my top place would be the 9ers by a mile.
