I thought Chargers would have kept Hunter Henry - seemed to do well with Herbert.

Didn’t the Pats take two TEs in the 3rd round last year, trading up for the first one?

Might have traded up for both. And they combined for 5 catches.

I don't know if they suck or not, but I do know that Belichick understands the sunk cost fallacy. He'll give up on guys when he has the evidence that they can't play, no matter how high/recently they were picked.

Case of two 2nd year WRs:
N'Keal Harry is a first round WR who can never get open. Jakobi Meyers is an undrafted WR who can sometimes get open. Meyers played more than Harry last year. Lots of teams would just force feed Harry the ball.

Drafting bad is a problem of course, but it's worse if you compound it by continuing to play a guy that has no hope. Belichick at least doesn't do the second bit as much as most NFL teams.

yeah, i remember when they took chad jackson and how excited i was that the pats could finally have a wr who may develop into something special

spent a 2nd rounder on him, gave him a total of 19 targets before cutting ties

No state income tax, old bones...Tampa vs Buffalo. And Brady...I doubt he thought too long re: Bills.

Decent amount of $ for a team that isn't short on weapons and their OL sucks, PFF daily pod guy said he thought they had the best 1st day of anyone. Signing 2 quality OL's. Their OL's mostly sucked last 10 years for Rivers, doubt they wanna make same mistake with Herbert.

They already got K Allen, Ekeler, M Will at skill positions.

Henry also never really made the leap like people thought he would. He was up and down and hurt a lot. Was hurt most of 2018-2019. Had a pretty underwhelming year last year.

Tight end is an intriguing position, it has the most tantalizing talent that doesn't end up panning out of all the positions it seems like. Likely because it is the toughest to learn besides QB, seems like you are way better off just sniping guys going into year 4-5-6 from other teams rather than spending draft capital on it for the most part.

Jonnu/Henry both have pro-bowl potential but perhaps there is a reason neither has gotten to that level. Just a tough position to project.

damien williams cut....that surprised me a bit since his # was so low, if they survived losing hunt like it was nothing then they probably aren't gonna miss him much but CEh was meh last year and D Will was very good in their SB run as well as 2018 run.

I think Lombardi Lenny (clearly last on their list of guys they wanna bring back) may leave Tampa so he could fill in there.

Could be a lot of cuts in the next 24hrs since deadline to get under cap is tomorrow

And the Bears next QB is.....Andy Dalton.

That's kind of like Wilson or Watson right?

Rumors are the raiders are a bit cash poor but also he is 32 and they like his backup, they took on a lot of dead money there though

One guy NE hasn't re-signed yet is their center David Andrews.

Supposedly it was at his request. As mentioned he was going to be 32 this year as well. Raiders will get some cap space if the release is counted after June 1st which seems likely.

Most Raider fans freaking out but given age, etc it's not that terrible. Still a little confusing. There must be something there that the team or Hudson are not talking about.

The Bears should've signed FITZMAGIC.

FITZMAGIC + That DEFENSE = CHAMPIONSHIP

Love me some FITZMAGIC. Fitz should go into the HOF as the greatest backup that’s starting to ever live. To be fair he’s had to have passed a number of HOFers in yardage and TDs at this point.

Buffalo Bills sign punter Matt Haack from Miami. Bills current punter BOJO led the league in fewest punts. He was getting bored and with NE resigning Cam he’s heading thee as he’s expected to see a lot more time on the field.

I agree, he's a HOFer in my book!

Miami fuc.ked up by pulling him this past season. He could've rode Miami all the way to the SUPERB OWL on a never ending tidal wave of touchdowns!

Feels like Miami were locked into 'wE HaVE a pLAn' that involved Fitz being average or poor enough that everyone would have been baying for Tua come the bye week. As it was, they effectively sacrificed a playoff appearance at the altar of giving him reps.

I still think it's quite criminal and it amazes me how little noise or scrutiny it garnered. A 10 win team deliberately putting in a lessor QB (potential is irrelevant to this conversation) and costing themselves a playoff spot as a result is outrageous. You can have all the long term development plans and strategies you like, but the aim of all this development is to get a team together capable of winning 12+ games and going to the playoffs. They had that and punted it away. My experience of following the NFL is that those shots are hard earned and the assumption that you will have plenty more of them in a cycle is beyond arrogant.

Anyway, I wish Fitzmagic well in Washington.

It's a big deal for a 33 year old, but he's still immense and if they feel injuries were the only thing that scuppered them last year I get it

Watson being accused of sexual assault during a massage parlor visit by the masseuse represented by a notorious local lawyer who ran for mayor in Houston. Said lawyer used to be neighbors with the McNair's the owner of the team so maybe they're trying to railroad Watson. Sucks for all parties but if the McNair's are caught, this is embarrassing.
