Pujols versus lefties this year slashing .330/.360/.700/1000+. That could portend staying around for a couple more years. That could portend Aaron and Bonds in jeopardy. The dam 100 games cancelled last year!! But this platoon slashing is only this year, not a trend over the last few at all. So mostly fluky probably.
Braves are just jinxed - finally a couple good wins vs Mets, Fried scheduled for today's game vs Mets, and he gets a freaking blister and needs to miss one start - this start.
Lucky he didn't punch the dugout wall to be out 2 months I guess.
Angels batting in the bottom of the 10th, tied 1-1.
Inning starts sac bunt, intentional walk, unintentional walk. So bases loaded, 1 out. Just need a sac fly, etc. to win the game. Max Stassi comes up to pinch hit.
Ball 1
Ball 2
Looking good!
Strike swinging at pitch way outside (Doh!)
Ball 3
3-1, still looking good!
Strike swinging at ball 4 (DOH!)
Strike swinging at ball 5 (DOH!!!)

Nice PA there, Max.
Angels now getting crushed in the 12th.
Thanks for writing this up. I watched in disbelief.
The 3-1 pitch was a shoulder high fastball. Like what the **** are you looking for there? Any pitch out of the zone LITERALLY WINS THE GAME! And they end up getting PUNISHED. I hope he feels bad.
I was only watching because I'm a Padres fan hoping that SF will eventually lose a game or two. Not today thanks to Stassi.
Speaking of the Padres, I was listening to tonight's game on the radio on the way home from work. After Tatis Jr stole a bag they mentioned that he's currently tied for the NL lead in both HR and SB. The last person to lead the league in both of those categories was someone on the Phillies back in 1932, I believe it was. That's a long ass time.
It's only been done by 3 players ever in both leagues combined. One of them was Ty Cobb, never heard of the other two.
Yep, T. Gwynn Jr. is co-host of a show on the local FM sports station and does color for the radio broadcasts of the games. He's gotten better but still needs some work. Not the most engaging of personalities but he does have some good stories from growing up around the game and his very meh playing career.
He's told some good stories about his dad, things like how he would go 4-5 during a game with two doubles but still be beating himself up on the drive home about the one out he made, or how he didn't get a good break on a fly ball in right field or something.

Yea he has some awesome stories about his dad.
He also sounds exactly like him.
Rob Manfred is the worst commissioner any sport has ever had. Now they won't wear their normal uniforms during the All Star Game? I like seeing all the different uniforms in the field together, this is a really dumb decision. Just another day as the dumbest commissioner baseball has ever seen.
