Obviously he was scariest dude around for a while after Bonds got blackballed and more scary than Miggy and Trout peaks.
He had 10 years basically averaging .300 / 35 / 110 or something.
Edit: His 11 year run at the beginning of his career is basically unmatched.
Averaged:
155 games
117 runs
188 hits
41 2B
40 HR
121 RBI
.328 BA
.420 OB
.617 SLG
1.037 OPS
Just shy of 8.0 WAR / year
2000+ hits in 11 years.
Trout is in his 11th year, and obviously had more injury issues and the 2020 shortened season so his counting stats can't compare, but
.306
.419
.585
1.005
So basically a better hitter than Trout over his first 11 seasons, minus the defense and baserunning advantage Trout has obviously.
Obviously #2 is that Pujols came up in the height of the steroid era, but Trout is in the middle of the fun happy baseball era.
