Holy **** what a race.

I think Helio got super lucky there, was probably a sitting duck if the traffic wasn't pulling him.

Shades of Wheldon in 2011 with the vet getting a new ride and winning Indy.

I've always liked Helio despite being a Penske hater, and seeing him stick it to the Captain where he owned the track was incredible.

This has been ***** awesome since the restart.
Hunter-Raey had the car. He's just cooked as a driver these days.

GREAT to see all this discussion! i was there in turn 2. it was the fastest 500 in history, which was good and bad. ultra clean race, but would have preferred an additional hour of entertainment (which is basically normal). oh well, i expect to be attending yearly from here on out.

it really was an excellent race. this is a great field, and we are in for a good year. wish there were more races, and the season was spread out a bit again.

looked into nashville, but they are gouging $ so im out.

i was the only one in my section booing as he made his post race lap on the pace car. basically he is the only guy i dislike in the field at this point, along with power a bit. i have to admit though its good for indycar, so i guess there is a silver lining.

One thing to note though that if he was in a chev he'd have finished mid-field.

Another race. Another race for Will Power to get angry about.

I thought those were both excellent races. Power was robbed, but i prefer the result. New points leader, and an interesting championship battle shaping up. Cmon euros, get to like this!

**** whatever that con artist Musk and Tesla are doing with their government subsidy scam, this is the real driverless car action. IMS was created as a test track for pavement, tires, chassis, rear-view mirror was invented there.

SAFER barriers, so many innovations.

If Penske wants to keep IMS and Indycar relevant further into the 21st century, then they really need to scrap the spec crap and start moving towards green cars, AI, machine learning, all kinds of new innovation.

I'm really excited about this and interested to see how the competition turns out.
agree with some, but certain (most?) motorsport series need to stay with ICE engines. the engine sound is one of the best things about live motorsport. i always come back to 12 hours of sebring, but thats for a reason. the variety of engine notes is one of the best things about the event.

cannot agree with this comment more. WP has been a whining B for a long time. this was amateur hour. he just got a new contract coz i will admit he is fast (not as much anymore), but i bet penske was livid. lol!

a busch league start by dixon and rosenq. at some point, you have to back out of it. thk god rosenq didnt sweep them all to oblivion.
i was surprised by how people were skipping over the curbs in turn 1. ive been there live about 20 times (not anymore, since i moved), and i dont remember them going over the curbs there so aggressively.
happy for the result. the championship is back to where it was.
jimmy j looked reasonably on pace, or at least in the ballpark.
the crowd looked very small. not sure what was up with that. maybe they are all scared of delta covid? kinda alarming.

laguna was more like an F1 race. shows that even with a spec series, theres lots of different variables that affect pace. im happy about the result with regard to the championship.

I'll just say this Andretti should have walked away with a one-two.
