Lillard seems pretty bad w no upside

Kawhi over Lebron would be a mistake considering Lebron was having a better season then Kawhi. Their decline risks are probably the same considering it’s age vs injury, and you miss year 1 with kawhi. Even someone like Tatum is prolly 35-40% to be better than Kawhi in year 2, so I don’t particularly like the pick while there’s studs on the board. I think I’d take him at end of first

Kawhi is also 30 (v 37 for Lebron) and like always was unreal in the playoffs before the injury. Kawhi's injury is a partial ACL tear so he definitely could play next season albeit not a ton.

Tatum to me still doesn't have that much top 5 player in the nba equity over the next 3 years while Kawhi does. At this point, I have to gamble to get equity. We will see what happens the next few rounds but I definitely prefer Kawhi's 2 way game to Tatum's. Tatum has upside but not on the level of many of the players taken already.

Why am I getting bated into bashing Dame when I have nothing to do with whatever weird machinations are going on in KOD-world?

I'll assume Tatum will go back to playing high level defense this season now that he won't presumably be on an inhaler from the aftermath of COVID.

Even in his bad defensive year, though, Tatum was a significantly better defender than Dame, & will be significantly easier to build a team around, etc.

I'm not going to bash anyone else's pick right now, though. They all make sense in their own ways, no one has gone too crazy & a lot will be determined with who else gets drafted to play with them.

I think Tatum is a good pick. There is only one undrafted guy I would have chosen.

I dont think Tatum is easier to build around than a transcendent offensive point guard who is the second best shooter in the league
