Las Vegas final round report:

Spoiler:
Nate Sexton finished off a wire-to-wire victory with an 11-under 50 (1056-rated) to finish at 44-under for a two-stroke victory over Garrett Gurthie, who shot a 10-under 51 on Sunday. Sexton's tournament rating was an impressive 1058.

Ricky Wysocki moved up from the chase card into solo third place with a 12-under 49 to finish three back of Sexton. Tristan Tanner (who looked really good on the third-round coverage on Central Coast, I was impressed seeing him for the first time) took fourth alone one more shot back after a 51 in in the final round. Simon Lizotte surged up to fifth at 39 under with Sunday's hot round, a 14-under 47 (1082 rated).

Next up: The Memorial Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona, Thursday through Sunday. Paul McBeth and Eagle McMahon return and join all the other top names.

Final nine holes of the lead card. Posted it once I saw what happened on 11 and 12. Pretty freaking clutch.

Memorial Championship first round report (Fountain course):

Spoiler:
Paul McBeth and Calvin Heimburg are tied for first place after firing 15-under 41s (1092-rated). Eagle McMahon and Drew Gibson are a stroke back at 14 under after their 1082-rated rounds. Those are four names you'd expect to be on a second-round lead card at a relatively open course like this.

Oyvind Jarnes, from Norway, and Eric Oakley are tied for fifth at 13 under (1072-rated). At 12 under (1062-rated) and tied for seventh are Cale Leiviska, Oskari Vikstrom (from Finland) and Andrew Marwede. There's a large group tied for 10th at 11 under, including Simon Lizotte, Dave Feldberg (a long-time pro), Emerson Keith, Adam Hammes and Nate Perkins.

Oakley and Vikstrom are carrying over their strong play from the Las Vegas Challenge. Vikstrom is only 17 years old.

Memorial second-round report:

Spoiler:
Calvin Heimburg fires a 1082-rated 13-under 43 on the Vista course to reach -28 and take a one-shot lead over Paul McBeth. The co-leaders after Thursday's first round did not slow up, with McBeth shooting a 1072-rated 12-under 44. Eagle McMahon is another shot back in third at -26 after his own 44 on Friday.

Alone in fourth at -24 is Emerson Keith, who moves up onto the lead card after shooting a 43.

The four players on Saturday's chase card are all tied for fifth at -23. Finland's Vaino Makela posted Friday's hot round, a 1092-rated 14-under 42. Simon Lizotte shot a 44, Cale Leiviska fired a 45 and Drew Gibson cooled off a little bit after Thursday's hot start but still is in good position after a 47.

Lower in the field, Bradley Williams made a bit of a move, going from a tie for 28th all the way up to a tie for 10th with a 44.

There's a bunch of strong players lingering anywhere from eight to 12 shots off the lead. It will be interesting to see if any of them can use Saturday (moving day) to get up into contention for a top-10 or even top-five spot.

Memorial third-round report:

Spoiler:
First, a correction: The second round was played on the Fountain Hills course, just like the first round. The third and final rounds are being played on the tougher Vista course. My apologies.

Eagle McMahon took sole possession of first place with a 10-under 50 (1068-rated), passing Calvin Heimburg and Paul McBeth on what turned out to be a lead card full of fireworks.

Heimburg, who had the outright lead after the second round, is now alone in second one shot back of McMahon after a 7-under 53.

Drew Gibson, who fell off of the lead card in the second round, rocketed back onto it for Sunday's final round by posting an 11-under 49 (1077-rated), tying for the hot round of the day along with Jeremy Koling (who's now tied for ninth). Gibson stands alone in third, two shots behind McMahon and one behind Heimburg.

Paul McBeth rounds out the final-round lead card, sitting in fourth after a very disappointing 4-under 56 on Saturday. He's five shots behind McMahon, which will make for must-see viewing as he's known for making final-round charges. He also usually lays a big round down after suffering through a poor one.

All four of Sunday's chase card competitors will start the day six shots behind McMahon. Three of them — Vaino Makela, Simon Lizotte and Cale Leiviska — shot 53s on Saturday, while Emerson Keith fired a 54.

i dont know anything about this, and have never played but i just watched a few of these. so uninformed casual viewer, my only real thought is that they need to restrict the amount of different discs you can use to about 4-6. seems ridiculous they are carrying around 20+ discs that can do all sorts of turns and skips. disc seems to be doing a lot of the work. commentators announcing a different disc name for almost every single throw.

eta- that being said. production value is great, videos are decent length. great for watching in the background while gaming or something. will continue to watch them.

I honestly have no idea. My guess is it's probably pretty similar to going to a PGA (or other pro golf) event, aside from MUCH smaller galleries.

(And free, as far as I know.)

Sorry for the delay on the Memorial final-round report, I had family obligations Sunday and Monday ...

Spoiler:
Calvin Heimburg went on a tear, birdieing 10 straight holes en route to an 11-under 49 (the hot round of the day and 1071-rated) for a one-shot victory over Eagle McMahon.

Heimburg made it a little more difficult on himself with an inside-the-circle miss for birdie on 15, as McMahon made his birdie to cut Heimburg's lead to one. Both players parred 16 and birdied 17. McMahon, first to tee off on 18, threw a terrible shot way out of bounds that essentially sealed the win for Heimburg (although he didn't exactly play the hole well).

Paul McBeth finished third, five shots behind Heimburg, after a 10-under 50 (1062-rated) that honestly could have been three or four strokes better. Vaino Makela (10-under 50) and Drew Gibson (6-under 54) tied for fourth, another stroke back. Gibson really struggled with his putting.

Next up is the Pro Tour's WACO Annual Charity Open from March 12-14.

The WACO tees off tomorrow. McBeth is the defending champion, three shots ahead of Wysocki and five more ahead of the rest of the field. It should be more competitive this time around, and all the big names are there (as usual).

WACO Round 1 review:

Spoiler:
Defending champion and five-time world champion Paul McBeth took the outright lead by two strokes with an 11-under 53 (1070-rated) in blustery conditions. The odds-on favorite entering the event, McBeth established himself as the frontrunner by playing a bogey-free round, a feat matched by only three others.

Matt Bell was alone in second after a 9-under 55. Rounding out the second-round lead card are Eric Oakley and Garrett Gurthie, who each shot an 8-under 56.

Seven golfers shot 57 — Colten Montgomery, Cale Leiviska, James Conrad (nice to see him get back on track), Philo Braithwaite (continuing his hot start to the season), Gavin Rathbun, Andrew Marwede and Kevin Jones.

WACO Round 2 review:

Spoiler:
In a surprise, Colten Montgomery shot the hot round of the tournament so far, a 13-under 51, for a two-day total of 20 under par to take a two-shot lead over Paul McBeth. Montgomery, whose PDGA rating is “only” 1012, has shot rounds of 1041 and 1078. It will be fascinating to see how he handles being on the final round lead card (that usually goes badly for those unfamiliar with it).

McBeth cooled off a bit from the first round but still shot a 7-under 57. It's another two shots back to Cale Leiviska, who's alone in third after a 9-under 55. One more stroke back is James Conrad, who gets onto the lead card after shooting an 8-under 56.

There's a group of five players at -14 for the tournament — Gregg Barsby (2018 world champion), Adam Hammes, Austin Hoop, Paul Ulibarri and Philo Braithwaite. Four more are at -13 — Austin Hannum, Calvin Heimburg, Nathan Queen and Cam Messerschmidt.

Unfortunately the pro tour has been shut down for the time being

Anyone know if there's a way to watch Brodie's Waco round? I thought he was on the feature card?

Brodie was on the PDGA feature card for the live stream which you have to pay to watch (this is the first year for that).

Colten Montgomery just became the most surprising winner of a DGPT event in many years.

This is the second round (now final round) lead card coverage. Montgomery was on the chase card so his hot round is not on here. I think the chase card may get posted later.
