On top of all that

Are they purposely trying to piss him off at this point?

I'd recommend that Watson go "Full Costanza" and drag a championship trophy around the parking lot, except the Texans haven't ever won lol.

Texans are handling this as badly as possible. They prolly think they can convince Watson to want to stay and play lololololol (not enough lol's but you get my point).

It's become tradition for the Super Bowl champion to host the Thursday Opening Night game in Week 1.

However, Tampa Bay has a soft home schedule. Carolina and Atlanta are weak division rivals. New Orleans could have been interesting but it looks like Drew Brees is retiring.

They play non-playoff teams Dallas, NY Giants, and Miami.

Two playoff teams on on their home schedule: Chicago and Buffalo. Buffalo should be an excellent team but I'm not sure they're considered a marquee team yet.

I'd say Buffalo is the best home game for Tampa Bay to open with.

But, there's one road game which could make for an interesting Opening Night matchup.

@ New England

If NE get Watson, I could see it.

No chance the league would waste that matchup Week 1 when the world is salivating for football again already.

TB @ NE is a lock for SNF Week 7ish.

My guess is the season starts with TB vs NO with Jameis against his old team.

Buccs will be at home, defending champ is always at home besides that one year when the Ravens had to go on the road, i forget why

There was an Orioles game on. Knowing the NFL it'll be Bucs vs Cowboys

The opener was GB/Chicago for the 100th anniversary year, I think (instead of defending champs). A one-off--oldest rivalry in the centennial year.

This will probably be it. America's Team always a big ratings draw plus Dak's triumphant return.

Bills Mafia now America’s team. The scrappy underdog exceeding expectations. This isn’t 1980 and Debbie has retired, or I hope she has.

yeah that also made sense since we didn't really need to see the Patriots opener on TNF after it happened 2x right before that

Dallas @ TB sounds right....maybe Miami I could see, Florida rivalry

Dallas @ TB with Dak's return sounds like a fun game for the opener with RATINGS DRAW.

Texans release JJ Watt at his request. The texans are about to have a fire sale of all their players.

"I don't think it's any secret that I don't have 10 years left in this league," Watt said in November. "I personally believe that I do have a few more great ones left in me. But you also can't ... I'm not looking to rebuild. I'm looking to go after a championship, and that's what I want to do."

If big rape comes back I would think he is going to PIT to join his 2 brothers.
