If you're doing best players from 2012-2019, you only have 3 choices. Kane, Silva, Hazard. Kane didn't win anything. Silva was amazing, but had a ton more help and was much less instrumental to their best seasons. Hazard was probably the best player last world cup after Modric and Mbappe, depending on how you feel about kante, pogba and di Maria.

I dont even like the player, but hes easily getting in the newly minted PL hall of fame.
I guess you can argue he was the best player from 2012-19. I understood "best player in the league for most of his time" as in the majority of his seven seasons in England, he was the best player in the league and reacted accordingly

Aguero, Kompany, DDG even if he’s a keeper where all more consistent that Hazard. Hed play for one season then have the next off.

I’m very much in the Hazard=overrated minority, but the massive carry job he did in the Sarri year will always stick out to me, and that wasn’t even him at his peak, probably.

I don’t really get why he even wanted to go to Madrid. He clearly doesn’t really care and can’t be bothered. He’s already won leagues and CL with Chelsea...why not either stay or pick anywhere else where the scrutiny isn’t there and he can just relax and enjoy.

This is a massive narrative with no substance which all boils down to that one season where the full team went nuts and finished 10th.

This thread taught me on tuesday that neymar has very little impact and now that hazard wasn’t consistently good in the PL.

10/10 revisionism and tonight i’m expecting to find out that arsenal has the greatest defense of all time after they keep a clean sheet against villarreal

Hazard had substantial spells of not turning up.

Of course he also had substantial spells of turning up.

Its the main thing that separates him from the truly top of the top greats.

At his peak he could hang there, the problem is that those players are there all the time, Hazard never achieved that.

Hazard legit thought he could/would win CL titles easier at RM than Chelsea. Chelsea has crushed with Hazard and been mediocre with him too. With that being said coaching, team issues were a problem while he was there.

Hazard I believe was signed right after they won the CL.

Can we all just take a moment to congratulate Chelsea on possible the best sale in football history: Selling Hazard to Real with 1 year left for €100m+ (apparently it can raise to €150 with add ons rofl)

Agent Hazard injured himself imo.

Yes, to be clear, my position is that Chelsea crush the transfer market on outgoing players (or at least they have since they gave Mou the heave-ho). Not so much on incoming ones.

Ah ofc my bad...forgot he signed right after they won. Europa League title is the same and just as prestigious though!

I do not speak Spanish, but based on the clip below I think Hazard might be in some actual danger.

i honestly have no idea if you guys are/were/used to be serious about kante or it's just a deep inside joke on him sucking

Eh?

Are you saying you think Kante sucks and we are all making an elaborate joke out of it?

Cina is right here.

This is Hazard's PL record:
Season Games Goals
2012–13 34 9
2013–14 35 14
2014–15 38 14
2015–16 31 4
2016–17 36 16
2017–18 34 12
2018–19 37 16

Bar 15/16 he actually looked pretty consistent.

He has also shown a consistent love of cake since he went to Madrid.

Give him Balon d'Or if Chelsea win UCL and France win Euros imo (or regardless, but trophies matter a lot for these awards).

Crazy how quickly football fans forget. Hazard was ridiculously good and very consistent. He had one bad season for Chelsea, but other than that he was one of the best players every season - sometimes the very best. He won PFA player of the year in 14/15 and finished second twice, he made TOTY 4 times (and was robbed in 17/18, perhaps his best season). He was a sensational player - and looking at his numbers alone doesn't do him any justice.

Come off it, Hazard went missing for weeks/months throughout his time at Chelsea.

When he was on it, he was absolutely brilliant though.

You say he would play great one season then not show up the one after, I say you're wrong

But if you're right maybe you can care to explain 3 consecutive team of the year for somebody who only plays good every odd season?

I respect BAIDS cause he's been consistent throughout on his hazard takes but the hot takes on hazard quality on the premier league surfacing right after a real madrid loss are funny. always a good signal the take is trash when we feel the need to make them at a very convenient moment (after a bad game for example)

Like it's ok to admit that he's been not good, overweight, constantly injured and that 100M for that player at his age on his contract situation was a rip-off, doesn't mean we need to revisit his PL history with narratives all of a sudden

So he was good enough for a team that won the title twice to run all their play through but was crap.

Obviously that statement was a reference to his season that he basically did.

I don’t even see how it’s even remotely controversial to say he wasn’t constantly good, OAFK sums it up perfectly tbh

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe ****
