Would love to see Max in Merc just to irk Lewis. Lewis would stomp his feet and make pouty faces like a child though and wouldn't allow it. I'd put money on Max taking the championship if that happend though

I was going to post this yesterday but really when it comes down to it Mercedes basically run the show now. Most successful team probably since Williams of the early to mid 90s and before that McLaren and now tied as an engine supplier to 3 teams now from next year so they really need for that status or title now a 2nd driver to Lewis to match. Yes it will make life harder for Lewis but really it is unavoidable that they should have a title contending 2nd driver. But I would settle for Vettel to be that 2nd driver and it doesn't have to be Max.

If they allowed the teams to run 3 cars, no blue flags?

Limit the number of starters?

I was just thinking that but in relation to Vettel being the 3rd car at Racing Point.

So how soon in the season will Alonso start complaining about the lack of support and how bad his car is?

I actually think he will come back with more understanding about the hurdles he faces at Renault.

I think Max should consider to go to McLaren
With the Mercedes engine next year, seems a better bet to me than Red Bull.

Seriously doubt McLaren will challenge RedBull next year. The regulations are not changing because of Covid and McLaren won't fully invest into the changes needed to fit the Mercedes engine into the current regulation car as that would be wasting money for one season. They are getting screwed by postponing the new regulations. McLaren is also not doing well financially. Season after are the new regulations and I expect Max would rather gamble on Newey, Honda and RedBull money getting those regulations right than McLaren. Season after is the most likely season Hamilton retires and if Mercedes continues to dominate then Max is the most likely driver to replace him.

All races in Americas cancelled today. Was expected but I was still hoping they would postpone them.

Getting Imola back is more than good though.

Really hope Hulkenberg scored a podium. As a Verstappen fan I am willing for Ver to take out Ham and Bot in the first turn giving the win to Albon.

I don't think anyone has said but it's a pretty good bet that he did something stupid with a week off.

Only a matter of time before Gasly replaces Albon I reckon.

He went to Mexico to visit his mother and after that went to Italy for holiday. On both occasions his gf/wife posted pictures on instagram that they were at restaurants, no facemask whatsoever in the pictures.

Albon is not the problem. The issue is that Max is just so much better.

I think with a Mclaren or a Racing Point, Max would also have been third in the standings.

He is the problem when I said before that he only appears to come alive in the 2nd half of the race or sometime during the race itself after going missing to date in practice and qualifying vs Max. He always seems to be in a position of needing to recover in the races which is never a good position to start in.

Anyway, I made a big long spiel elsewhere but I'll just finish on what I basically said is the difference in that we have seen consistently pretty much Gasly beating Kyvat (by as much as 3 to 4 tenths of a second at times) during practice and qualifying since Gasly was demoted when, if you recall between Albon and Kyvat, that it was much more closer and nearly 50/50 as to who was quicker.

There's a billion dollars on the line.

You'd better be fast or rich.

Well that was a very interesting finish to an otherwise pretty dull race. Looks like Red Bull threw away the win with that final stop.

My streaming site didn't work today

I don't even know where to watch legally and what it costs. I think Sky Sport isn't available in Spain.

I think Max is really happy with 19 points in this race.

The championship is over with this 25-0. It would have been interesting with this going the other way.

Too early in a season with lots of possible surprises to gamble getting a puncture as well. If Lewis his tire blows in a corner he is out completely. Same for Max. If Lewis catches covid then he misses at least 2 races and you are suddenly having a shot at the title even if it comes with a massive asterix.

If Redbull's winning strategy is "Maybe Lewis will get a puncture the last lap" they are not going to get as many points as they should. You have play it that the tire will last one more lap. You can't count on tire or mechanical failures with Merc.
