If they could get pole they would not have gone for softs. The reason for softs is to have more grip at the start so you can overtake in the first lap on a circuit where overtaking is difficult. Then hope you can find a gap to make your first pitstop and go for a 2 stop while Perez stays out preventing Mercedes from doing the same. Even better if you can do either stop under a safety car.

I'll just allow that mistake from Bottas

Congrats to Ocon. One of the best background stories in F1. He must have had a great drive holding off Vettel thr whole way and having enough speed to stay ahead of Hamilton.

really disappointed with the negative comments here. bottas was clearly, obviously wrong here. i thought his penalty should be harsher. however, what exactly is the point of continually talking about conspiracy theories and "fanboy" comments? if youre a real f1 fan, and you hate HAM, you still respect the hell out of him. in which case, you choose comments that are just better. i really, REALLY dislike VER, but again i respect the hell out of him. i have to. for me, he has gone over the limit in the past, but not really this year. this championship is awesome, far better than we could hope for with the current horrific rules.

this was a great race on a track that should never have been built the way it is. lets get some perspective.

It's a joke that the FIA expect all the cars to have a litre of fuel in them after the race, especially when they've had a pause for a red flag without taking a lap or two of the race distance.
If they were going to take a sample from Okon, he would've been DQ'ed too as he ran out of fuel at the end.

Can't deny Hamilton is extremely lucky this season. His main opponent losing points 3 times without doing anything wrong while he gets saved twice by red flags at precisely the right moment to save his race after making mistakes. Also Hamilton coming on the radio complaining about Alonso's driving at high speeds was of course hilarious. On top of that he is lucky Mercedes didn't put a competitive driver in the second seat of one of the most dominant cars of all time.

I feel sorry for all the drivers who got ****ed by Bottas who really is driving himself out of a 2022 ride, but it did make for a fun race and Lewis still drove really well today.

What do you expect? We were getting a wet race confrontation between VER and HAM, NOR has a fantastic start and we were going to get some good battles everywhere. Instead BOT ****s up and takes out the top 2-5 of the driver classification. Who can be happy about that, other than the HAM fans?

race was still excellent. imo bottas should get close to a race ban for that one, altho it was on wet tarmac, so maybe not. regardless, still expect better of REAL f1 fans. ya HAM is luckboxing right now. yay. i just lost 3 tournies at a 4% loss probability...**** happens.
