He's on a reported £50k a week. Sure, if he doesn't get injured, he might get a 2 year deal on £200k a week. That's £20m plus the £2.5m on his existing deal.
However, if he does his hamstring and misses half a season for the 3rd time in 4 years, he can kiss goodbye to that kind of money. If he does his ACL, that might be his career.
If Spurs offered him say £120k over 3 years this summer, that's £18m guaranteed whether he gets injured or not.
Ask Danny Welbeck which option he would take.
