We definitely need a CB and a winger. What do you believe is the best player in each position that we have a realistic chance at getting? I keep reading about De Ligt, Zaha, Pepe and the likes, but it doesnt seem remotely realistic.
Out of the academy players, who do we promote? Given our bleak budget, i'd promote most of the very promising players and hope to hit a jackpot like spuds. I'm thinking Nelson, Nketiah, Willock and loan out Saka(~league one), Amaechi, Bielik(~championship) and ESR(bundesliga).
In a perfect world we'd get a Xhaka replacement and a new starting LB, but i doubt our budget would allow it.
On a sidenote, we sold Bennacer in 2017 for ~1m and since then he's had 30+ Serie B and 30+ Serie A games. We have a buy back option at 5m. I assume we'd use that option.

I’d love Zaha. I wonder that rumored price tag is flat or only for Utd because of the sell on clause.
Maybe we could tempt Ajax with a loan with an option to buy de Ligt for £75 million, paid in equal installments over the next 150 years. They might get better offers though.
Everytime I get to see Saka, I wonder how he hasn’t featured at all for the first team. Prob just very raw. I hope Nelson gets a ton of playing time for us next year, and Nketiah goes out on loan somewhere good if he can’t.
As much as I’d love to see Xhaka not being a dope on the pitch, he does a lot of good stuff too, so that makes replacing him like our 15th most important priority.
I am not hopeful at all as we are apparently unwilling to spend more than 40-50mill. If this is the way we are run I would just like an established CB and give Willock/Eddie/Nelson a go. Hopefully Holding and Bellerin are back in full force and we get to keep both Laca and Auba.
b2b midfielder is a must as we lacked any kind of control on the game's tempo when Rambo was out. Does Cazorla have a younger nephew or something?

He always used to bring his son out on the pitch before games. I remember thinking back then that 5 year old Enzo Cazorla had better on the ball skills than half our team.
Our squad is so wildly unbalanced and lacking in quality in key areas, should we think about selling one of Laca/Auba if it it allows us to bring in an actual proven worthy replacement for Rambo or a CB? *ducks*
If we got a crazy amount for either Laca or Auba and we could reinvest it all, i would be for it. But it would have to be the kind of offer you can't refuse. Im thinking in the region of ~75m£ (i know, it wont happen). If we could get a Zaha + change for a 30y old Auba, that would be a sensible deal.
The problem with having one of the best striker duos in the world is that they become so impotent in our current system with all the droolers they are surrounded by. They have to create everything on their own.
I can see us being in for Zaha. He'd be an improvement on Lingard/Sanchez/Mata and Martial when he's not giving a **** which is basically 75% of the time.
Ole is probably taking transfer advice from SAF which he should since Fergie was good in the market and Zaha was a Fergie signing. He'd be a good option at RW.

Zaha has played a whopping 3 games on the right in the last two seasons. He can certainly play there but it seems like he's better/prefers to play on the left.

He probably goes for a chunk more than 50m tbh, especially if it's not United, since we have a 20-25% sell on clause.
Auba isn't even 30 yet, life isn't football manager and there's absolutely no reason to assume he's gonna fall off a cliff any time soon. Unless it's legit crazy money, like £120m+, we'd be crazy to sell.
