More money in the market than talent.
Yea pretty nice to be sitting on three elite forwards all only 27yrs old.

I mean aub is still an elite striker. But having him and laca is redundant unless you can afford luxuries like that. Arsenal can't, so it makes sense to sell one to fund buying players for spots of need. Bellerin is still young, and ars should be trying to hold on to anyone under 26 thats going to play tons of minutes unless they'll fetch bonkers $. He also classifies as homegrown which has a ton of value. If you can flip him like for like for awb at a profit or minimal cost then sure that's fine.

Iwobi, bellerin, holding, amn, Nelson, kola, laca, leno, torreira, guendouzi isn't an awful core to build off of, especially if you can get a combined 100ish mil off xhaka ozil aubamayang plus the 40 they supposedly have now. Buy a lb, cb, wide fwd, striker prospect, and cam. That's doable. Sokratis and kosc have some short term value but aren't long term options and kosc prob leaves this summer.

2 more years of this front three is pretty damn good. How much would other teams pay for that privilege?

yup. Either Mane or Salah would fetch insane prices on the open market right now and having them locked up for the foreseeable future at their peaks is very much a luxury very few teams have

I need to see it to believe it but it's sounding likely that we're letting Sarri leave for Juve. What the hell is going on, why are you letting this great manager go? The administration need to cut back on the vodka.

I suppose it's something that this is the first time in forever a manager leaves on his own accord but that hardly makes it a win..

There were reports last week once the idiotic pep rumors died down that sarri was gonna sign with juve. There was one Italian reporter in particular running with it. I mentioned it in the prem thread I think. Hoping it’s true for no particular reason.

I mean he's a great manager too but i just don't get it. We've looked better and better and for the first time in Idk how many years played attacking football, at least most of the time. I will be very sad if Sarri leaves, but I can only imagine how Napoli fans will feel..

But I would take allegri in a heartbeat if Sarri really is gone.

Salah is 26, no way he's done in 2 years.

He's also a better technical player than Mane and iirc finishes with like 5x as many assists and key passes each season, is an all round better finisher etc.

Mane is likely to have a Sanchez esque decline when the legs go but I expect Salah to be crushing for more than 2 year assuming no serious injuries.

Salah is not a better finisher than Mane, at least not in the current season - and as an "all round finisher" he doesn't come close to him. Mane scored as many goals as salah without as many minutes and without taking penalties. Mane is a better finisher, and he scores a lot with both feet and even headers for someone his size, Salah almost exclusively scores with his left foot. And salah is the same height. Mane has a far better weak foot and head than Salah, Idk how you think he's a better all round finisher.

Salah also has more "big chances missed" this season for whatever that's worth.

Going to write a longer post later, but lol at Chelsea playing attacking football they scored the 6th most goals in the league and Hazard contributed to over half of them.

Last winter I was all aboard a rebuild for Arsenal, but 90% of the time selling off one of our strikers will be a massive error. It's basically our lone competitive advantage. You're willing to let one of the top 10 strikers in world football go for someone like Zaha or Ziyech? Yikes.

Seems like ppl are willing to let Auba/Laca go for 70-80m. You get a lot more than a Ziyech for that. You might not get more than a Zaha, but i hope we wouldnt be that ******ed.
Hopefully we can offload some trash instead (like Özil, Mustafi, Xhaka etc)

I hadn't been on 2p2 since the el final, but Arsenal Twitter is really mad at Emery and Stan. I get the hate on both, but Stan isn't most of the reason we've taken a step back.

Over the last decade we sold/released Cesc, RVP, Cazorla, Wilshere, Ramsey, Sanchez, Sceczny, Gnabry, Welbeck for about £50m. Just compare that to what Pool did for arguably less talent.

Having two really good players up top only gets us so far when most of the rest of the team is inexperienced, average or just plain ******ed. And if the manager doesn’t have any discernible style or game plan other than try to get it to Kolasinac so he can cross into the box.

They can win games on their own sometimes, but on the days they aren’t magical, more often than not we’ll just be ****ed like in the game against Chelsea.

It would have been nice for Kroenke to care enough to show up to our biggest game of the past decade, but he’s a hands off owner. It wouldn’t cause such an uproar if that baldy bald failure Gazidis could have done his job.

His son came to the game tbf. Josh has always been the arm of the family dealing with Arsenal.

There are restrictions by the Premier League on how much you can increase spending on wages from year to year but it isn't as simple as you can't spend more than X% more from year to year.

Yeah, unfortunately FFP is a total fantasy.

That's what having Giroud/Higuain up top and Kante/Kovacic behind them will do. We had the second most shots and 4th most on target in the league and we hit the woodwork more than anyone else (except City whom were tied with). If we had a decent striker he'd have scored 20+ goals easily. Hell, RLC outscored all but 2 players in 10 full games. As an Arsenal fan you probably don't think it counts as attacking football if you don't concede 100 goals the other way, but it does.
