Did something get released in the last four hours? Because this morning all the idiotic rumors came out then Benfica subsequently came out and said it’s not true.

Nothing official but several newspapers are here are treating it as done deal, and they haven't really said much about him or his possible destinations up until this point

Dropping that kind of money in Joao Felix (even if atleti only pays like 80% of the transfer or whatever) seems kind of ******ed when you remember that mendes is gonna force you to sell him in 2/3 years if he becomes what you are paying him to become.

I’ve got the Felix stuff as fake news

I mean it probably ends up happening because the fit/circumstances makes sense but it seems strange Benfica themselves come out and say nah that’s not true

They're getting more than 200m euro from selling Hernandez and Griezmann i think. They did splash 70m on ****ing Lemar last season.

I loved Félix this year, and he just turned 19, but €120M is an insane amount of money for a kid that basically played 6 months of professional football. Hope I'm wrong he hits his ceiling though

i don’t know how good the felix guy is but it makes sense for atleti to do something big. griezmann was almost their entire attack last season and they know it. and they’re losing a lot of quality this summer but they’re also getting paid. the worry is they’ve had an awful lot of big money flops the last 4-5 years

taking over the griezmann position as a second striker does seem like a pretty good fit too, no? it’s a good role for someone who isnt really a #9 but can score goals and is maybe wasted as a winger. it was basically the situation griezmann was in when he came

i don’t think their wage bill is that bad, but yeah it seems completely impossible for a number of reason.
