Was starting my post about Harold Varner and how he looks like and everyman with his gut, and as I was typing they flashed an interview from after yesterday's round where he said he is excited "know matter what happens", and that he was going to go home and "eat some Mcdonalds". That is just brutal. Here he is with a chance to make history, and he is advertising to the world that he is a slob, while already putting it out there that he might have a terrible result.

The reality is that he is a likeable guy, and the only African American on tour not named Tiger Woods. He is seven strokes back, so there is no pressure. He sort of lucked into the final group when DJ bogeyed 18. This is his chance to show his best stuff on all fronts. How about not talking about McDonald's, and maybe taking the approach that he will try to put pressure on Koepka by playing some good golf early.

Seems like a blown opportunity here, but he is likeable and I am rooting for him.

While 4 majors like this is crazy good 4 majors with only 2 other wins is just weird. He needs to show dominance more often. If he continues the next 4 years winning multiple other events + WGC's then we can talk about him being great. He needs 4 more WGC's and 6 higher level tour events with 2 more majors in the next 4 years.

They need to bring in a few 100 foot trees for the first hole.

I actually don't hate it but would like something in the landing area that means they don't have a 65 yard wide area to hit to assuming they hit it far enough. Don't get me wrong I love when I can hit over a tree on a dogleg so it is massive hypocrisy on my part.
