It's weird to go through all that for maybe a 3rd when they would just get a supplemental 3rd a year later without tagging him unless they already had the deal lined up.

Can pick where he goes tho (not NYG/Washington).

It's like when GB wanted Favre in NYJ and not Minny.

Yeah, if they have a deal lined up & Foles is ok with the destination. If Foles wants to play hardball he doesn't have to sign the franchise tender & can throw a big wrench in everything.

It's crazy to be concerned about the Giants or Redskins winning a bidding war for Foles & paying full sticker price for him. Not saying that they're not, though.

Large Pole Foles to the Jags has to be like -2000. He'd be almost too perfect a fit after years and years of Bort

A little over 14 months after a Twitter mob and a painted rock derailed his shot at becoming the head coach at the University of Tennessee, Greg Schiano will reportedly become the highest-profile assistant coach in football – defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots.

Atlanta’s AAF team lost their head coach (Brad Childress) and OC (Michael Vick) two days before the first game. Seems like this league is gonna do just fine.

Are the Steelers really going to put the transition tag on Bell?

Maybe just move on at this point?

Gase's father in law Vitt is on his staff again this year and that guy worked with gregg williams on the bountygate saints, and gregg's kid is on the staff too.

Vitt accused Gregg of lying in the hearings.

Gregg's kid Blake seems like a winner.

Blake Williams, 34, has a reputation for rubbing people the wrong way. As a St. Louis Rams assistant, he upset people in the organization by screaming at a draft prospect in a scouting-combine interview, a source said. He also was reprimanded multiple times for sitting in the wrong seat on the team bus; he kept sitting in a seat reserved for a senior member of the staff.

So how is this going to work moving forward? Teams will cut players caught on tape hitting women but be willing to sign them if they weren't on their roster at the time? So now what if a current Brown gets caught doing that? Are they going to cut him? How do they rationalize signing Hunt but cutting the hypothetical player otherwise

The Chiefs deal was that they knew about the incident and Hunt lied to them. He was emphatic that he never left the room. Might be different in other situations.

If I am a player in fear of being franchise tagged I am finding a fall woman who can take a punch in broad daylight at a bank after a clerk checks my ID and verifies it is me. It may be easier to just plant the woman on the field with media credentials immediately after the final game of the season.Obviously I am paying the woman $x over 20 years starting after the end of my playing career (maybe after I get cut) and I am only hitting her with 25% of my force but she is going to play it up (maybe a former WWE wrestler?). When the team or NFL question me about it I say no comment until I get cut then I tell them it was a PR stunt for a mouthpiece company I am starting or some other BS.

It's not concussions that cause CTE. It's repeated hits, a study finds

Quote:
Goldstein and his colleagues from Boston University evaluated the brains of four deceased athletes, ages 17 and 18 years old. All four had died within a day to four months of receiving some sort of sport-related head injury and had a history of playing football.

Some of these changes in the brain occurred as early as 24 hours after injury. Goldstein said one of the cases could be diagnosed as early-stage CTE.

What researchers found under the microscope was striking, said Goldstein. "We're seeing the earliest pathology soon after one of these injuries," he said.
Quote:
"CTE develops early, soon after injury. It doesn't take years, or decades. It starts early. It persists. And all of our evidence to date shows it's progressive."
Yikes
