I give Trent a pass, because he was actually playing well until he got knocked the eff out against the Cards, and then again vs. the Browns. Major concussion. He probably doesn't know where he is.

There is no way in hell the niners are trading their first pick this year for a 32 year old diva wr. I love ab, but disgruntled wrs have a history of going for way below marker value. When you take the cap hit that’s required by the Steelers, 21 m dead money I believe for 2 seasons. I doubt he’s going to be traded.

TO ended up being traded for a fifth round pick by the eagles and a throw in player after initially being traded for a second round pick to the ravens. Randy was traded for a fourth round pick to the pats. Bmarsh was traded for two third round picks at 28 and then again for a 5th round pick.

Older wrs don’t have much trade value either. The niners are clearly dumb but overpaying for ab would be their dumbest move. I heard fans talk about offering a first and a second for him....gtfo of here. Odds are he’s playing for the Steelers next year just due to the cap hit and If he isn’t playing for the Steelers, they must waive him. Don’t know how they can get around the cap hits.

The avg fan would pull a ditka and trade entire drafts for players.

Eagles are currently 15M over the cap, but there's no difference for them trading or releasing foles so I don't get giving up leverage here, they'll have other cuts so it's not like they can't get under the cap by day 1.

No, they pick too high.

Moss was thought to be done because he didn't give a **** on a bad team and AB is better than BMarsh was (they were all 30 at the time of those late round pick trades)

The key difference here is that it might well be possible to get a late first though if Pit ends up eating most of AB's cap this year which they might since they don't save **** for next year out of one.

If you trade for AB this is the contract you'd be getting:

2019 - Age 31: $12.6M base + 2.5M roster bonus = 15.1M
2020 - Age 32: $11.3M
2021 - Age 33: $12.5M

3 years 39 Mill. Pretty solid discount for trading team. There are better possible uses of a 1st round pick but in terms of expected surplus value you are probably coming out ahead. Alshon, TY Hilton and Allen Robinson would be comparable contracts.

Do they have much leverage since Foles can buy out for $2M to go wherever he wants? Seems like the only way they could do it is tag & trade.

it's a good contract. but the the steelers get back to back 20M hits on a vet team with higher contracts. so even if there is a bidding war, the steelers are going to take it on the chin. are they willing to have that big of a cap hit in the short term with ben near the end of his career?

https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/01/06/st...salary-cap-hit if they wait till June 1st, it's down to 2 years spread 12 and 12 over 2019 and 2020 season.

You forgot to type ‘cut Cam Newton’.

I'm still in the camp of 'Nick Foles is not a good QB' and my memory of his first games this season supports that along with most of his pre 2017 playoffs career.

He definitely played better at the end of the year and he was extremely impressive in the two big games in last year's playoffs so I know the foundation for my view is getting weaker but I'm standing firm and I'm very much hoping that one of the teams/execs I dislike in this League signs him to a monster contract.

#1 hope is Broncos/Elway followed by Giants/Gettleman and while I've always loved the Raiders, the lols of Gruden/Mayock signing him to a monster contract and then the ensuing disaster would be almost irresistible

when nick had 2 legit options in jeffrey/ertz he played much better. the first 2 games coincided with alshon being out. with alshon, they had the ability to beat the saints on the road in the playoffs. not saying much but i think looking at the first two games this season and saying nick can't play is just not exactly right.

spotrac says they can finally get rid of him for just 8.5M dead cap. he isnt going to play anyway this year after surgery and Im not exactly sure how IR works for cap reasons but seems like the obvious play. frees up 15M in cap room, and torrey smith is another easy cut to get 5M back.

correct. but it was looking at the first two games of this season, then my memory of most of his previous career outside of the 27:2 season. he's definitely been more impressive towards the end of this season and of course last year's final 2 games so it could be he's made the leap

again, I'm not gonna die on a bridge for this take but it's definitely something I still believe has a good chance of being true

Could you imagine if a team that already has one of those comparable contracts, and an elite QB, elite OLine, and $122M in cap space could add him.

Golly Jeepers that would be pretty crazy. Can't do that though because he wore a fur coat once and you can't have a player like that in your locker room.

Imagine the Chiefs with AB. I mean it sounds stupid. And I'm sure it is. But just imagine.

AB on one side, Watkins on the other, Hill in the slot. Or whatever other crazy combinations Reid can dream up.

You need to realize Watkins is not very good. And when he's not on the field being very mediocre, he's on the sideline with an injury from a stub toe.

Watkins is a big difference in the offense when he's on the field.

I doubt Pitt is trading AB to an AFC team, let alone a AFC playoff team.
