NFL owners are dumb but not sure they're quite that dumb.
Bobby K just got popped at a jack shack.
Daniel Snyder breathes
The giants passed on a QB.

NFL owners may not be totally dumb, but do real dumb ****. Like, I’ve played poker with guys that have immense wealth but can’t fold 3-6 off for a 26 BB raise pre cause they limped on.

Why would Kaep agree to such a low settlement and let the NFL off the hook from having embarrassing details released at a trial? He seems to be doing well so I don't see how $10M is even worth considering from his perspective. The NFL wanted this over and gone. They certainly didn't want a trial dragging through another season of football. Unless Kaep's team had absolutely nothing and were vulnerable to losing so badly they'd have to pay the NFL's legal fees i can't imagine asking for less than $50M just to go away and avoid a trial.

The fact Brian Burns is not going to be drafted in the top 10 shows just how stacked the top of this draft is. Javon Kearse clone is dropping out of the top 10? Lol what? Ridiculous.
What makes you think he won't be?

It's definitely possible but I think he'll go somewhere in between 10-20 because the draft is deep with edge rushers this year. Couple that with the fact there is 2 edge rushers that are clearly better than him, a few more probably graded close to him, and he's likely going to fall.

It's time for a one-dimensional offense to take the NFL by storm.

He isn’t getting $10M - he is splitting less than $10M. I think $2M is a better assumption than $10M.

The reason he accepted the low payout is because it was likely all about the money for him (and he probably realized this is his highest EV), he realized he had no case and as you point out he didn’t want to pay the NFLs league fees (he probably can’t afford them). What embarrassing details are you thinking we’re goimg to come out for the NFL?

It's harder to name a worse QB-RB duo.
Allen/McCoy, Flacco/Lindsay, whatever the Dolphins have, Carr/Richard (?), Keenum/AP maybe

Good for him. Guy's been playing through injuries for seemingly his entire career.

Not sure what I'd do. I guess become a Jets fan?
nope. you can’t do that. it isn’t allowed.

you MUST watch the giants for the next 10 years, every year being worse and more heart-breaking than the last. you MUST watch *all of their games*, and you have to let them ruin dozens upon dozens of sundays. you MUST live through a dozen of the most LOL drafts, maybe of all time.

you MUST keep watching through an 0-16 season. you get excited for a draft and then you keep watching through a 1-15 season. you’re a meme, and you MUST look at all of the memes.

then, in something like 2029, you draft a qb. he’s legit. but for the first half of the year, that qb will sit on the bench no matter how loud you yell from whatever stadium your giants are playing in...

then, your coach, quote possibly the cockiest coach in the past 12 years to ever go 1-31 and still have a job to be cocky at will get fired. your giants will promptly look like a legit, 2029 NFL offense with only the benefit of one bye week. you’ll obv miss the playoffs, but then....out nowhere that offseason, you’ll trade for the Cleveland Browns’ (who have won 4 of the last 5 Super Bowls) young, stud wide receiver and an instant, your hope...your enthusiasm...

you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you didn’t choose the jets way back in 2019 when your fandom wavered. even as the jets continue to put 39-0’s on you in the early (and middle) 2020’s.

you’re as old as me, at least generationally, and you don’t get to change now, sir. you enjoy your version of barry sanders. all of the exciting 70-yard runs, all of the barely missed and 1-and-out playoffs. accept your ceiling of mediocrity when in 2026, kelly holcomb jr hits his peak and you get mollywhomped by the toronto bills in the wild card round.

eventually, your giants will have a young qb, a top 2 wr (*cough*), good young rb’s, a solid defense... and you will have the good luck to watch your team fail again.

changing to anyone, let alone the jets ffs, is unseemly. suck it up, and watch the browns these next few years for a glimpse into your future.

So how does the Kaep thing work?

If he's still looking to get on a roster and still no one hires him, can he sue for collusion again?

Or does the settlement mean that he agrees to stay out of the NFL for good?

the 4th and 15 idea is gimmicky as hell, maybe the NBA should have a line 40 feet out worth 10 points that comes into play if team trails by 15 or more with less than 5 minutes to go

is that instead of onside kicks? seems fine, those are gimmicky themselves

4th and 15 seems massively easier to convert than an expected onside kick under the current rules.

Of course I'd be thrilled with giving Mahomes the ball in that spot.
