Well presumably they wanted to play in the NFL so that they could then cash NFL paychecks, not just to have a comfortable place to kneel, and were not being allowed to do that. There's always the very real chance of going to trial and getting nothing.

Kaep was just going to show Petermans Bills tape as evidence he was being blackballed

Everytime the Bills started him I wondered how much **** Pegula was getting from the other owners.

Kaep: Im accusing the NFL of conspiring to prevent me from working based on my personal beliefs and the way I peacefully demonstrated them. I believe I have evidence of this and am looking to either be allowed to work again or receive an equivalent amount of money to my lost earnings.

NFL: ****, here's 8-9 figures lets not go to court.

certain demographic: See he was just a phony! Just wanted money and sold out! LOL him and people that supported his decision to sue to the NFL.

So let's say the settlement is for 80 million for Kaep. How much does of that does he take home after legal fees and taxes. I'm guessing less than half, but how much less?

depends on the state, not all settlements are taxable

I don't know where to draw the line: I'm definitely not giving up Chick Fil-A because that family is full of homophobic scumbags. But I'm not feeling real good about how NFL fandom is going to age.

So you think all of it was just pro bono and his motive wasn't to collect pay he thought he was entitled to? lol

Also him settling out of court makes it look like the NFL is admitting at least partial guilt and is a bad look for them. Seems like mission accomplished to me.

Dolphins hire Reggie McKenzie. Not sure how much to hate that, if at all. He might not be great, but he probably brings the average up as far as the lolfins front office is concerned.

Flacco's better than Keenum in denver with his arm, the broncos haven't had a big armed QB to take advantage of that air since Jay Cutler. Opposing defenses will have to respect it opening up opportunities underneath at least.

Sure lol trading anything for a guy they were gonna cut anyway but it's only a 4th so who cares.

Denver is drafting a round 1 QB 90%. Might even cut Flacco before the season paying him $0(? - still on hook for Keenum dead cap tho). Think this is gonna playout similar to Bears/Glennon/Trubisky and Cardinals/Bradford,Glennon/Rosen.

Seems terrible but for whatever reason some team does it every year now.

Definite Mission accomplishment in getting his money. This settlement + his Nike deal he will probably make more then if he continued his past of drifting off into obscurity (which was the way he was heading before his “protest”).

Maybe him and the nfl owners aren’t so different?

Doubtful they draft a round 1 qb with this class. Gimme 5 to 1 if you believe that.

I never thought AB was too smart, but what an absolute moron he is by killing his trade value with his idiotic twitter rants. Agents should be putting their clients on social media lock-down when they are in trade talks at least.

I guess Pitt is down to a 2nd round pick at best now for him. If they can't get at least that, not sure they should even trade him.

Why is he a moron for driving down the compensation his new team will have to give up for him

^ it could work like that if it was just him being a drama queen, but he's wanting a new contract with guaranteed money too. I think the numbers of interested teams is shrinking.

I was thinking about the same. If anything, tanking your trade value is a great way to **** over your current team. This is of course assuming that the team you're going to doesn't want to renegotiate your contract as a condition of the trade.

This draft class is pretty poor at QB, I would've tried a different QB you could get out there if I was Denver but I don't blame them at all for throwing all sorts of **** at the wall hoping something works out.

Roeth's a bigger drama queen than Brown/Bell are; just doesn't get talked about probably because he plays every game rather than Bell having sat out the whole year and Brown week 17. I'm sure that's the reason why.

They chose Roeth, think I would've picked Brown/Bell heh.

No team is gonna give Brown a new deal unless they just want to torch money on fire, no out till 2021 and good cap numbers, also it ends right when every WR not named Rice tends to die off.

just saw this about AB in a Bell article, although Colbert could just be trying to keep teams from offering crap trades

Quote:
Colbert also said the Steelers will not offer a discount in a trade to get rid of disgruntled wide receiver Antonio Brown. The GM said no relationship is irreparable, so if the team can't find good value for him, keeping Brown might be an option.

"We're all disappointed we're at this point. How things transpired, we're all disappointed," Colbert said. "Respectfully, we did agree [that looking] into a trade would probably be the best course of action for both sides. .... By no means are we going to make a trade or any type of move that will not be beneficial to the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. We will not be discounting you on the trade market and we will not release you."

1) I highly doubt brown is smart enough to think 2 steps ahead like this.

2) if he was smart enough to think like this it could end up back firing. Say the Steelers end up cutting him. Do you think some team is going to give a 31 year old receiver who has a long track record of being a complete locker room distraction, a contract better than his current one?
