Those dk metcalf numbers are ridiculous...

Some team definitely takes a punt in the 2nd round. Probably a team who loves to throw a nice fade in the endzone.

Cant see him being that good with that turn speed but a redzone threat purely for height and size

Don't the Patriots always get good value when the trade down?

I sort of root for them to do it.

we need players and cheap contracts

havent drafted a pro bowler in 6 years and they ran out of cap space because of expensive vets

The problem with GB taking a backup Qb is that they traded for one last year, there non-QB roster is so bad deep-playoff-run-equity is 0 without GODGERS and they have a window of 5ish years to win a SB w/ the GOAT.

You know when a coach is deciding to go for it on fourth down and we say, "If the opposing fans would prefer he do one thing, he should probably do the opposite?"

Well, I'm not basing the Packers' draft strategy on what a Vikings' fan thinks would be a good idea.

or a team like Raiders with 3 #1s or even Giants with 2 might take him at the end of the first

I wouldn't...i think 3 cone and short shuttle are about the most important drills...but can see somebody using their second pick on him as risk reward type thing

And this.

His teammate Lodge is a much better pro prospect imo. And Brown is gonna be a beast with the right coaching staff. Has a bit of a competitive attitude problem that needs to be controlled.

Great OP!

I know most of these guys didn't care about their education, but solely based on the fact that they are alive they shouldn't be getting a single-digit score.
This is a really accurate assessment of the Wonderlic and scoring a 9.

Would it be assault or just a fine/suspension if a player, instead of shaking Goodell's hand, he tackled him to the ground?

I think there's only three ways they can **** it up.

1. Trading up for Haskins/Lock/Jones if the Cardinals take Murray. I think Rosen is better than all 3 and cheaper. Disclaimer: I think Rosen has top 5 QB potential. His situation last year was one of the worst I've ever seen when you factor in OL, coaching staff, and coaching staff turnover. He showed promise in being able to make every type of throw and being able to make quick decisions.

2. Taking a WR/RB. Miami needs some depth at both positions, sure. However Drake and Parker are perfectly fine anchor pieces and I'd prefer to just increase depth later in the draft instead of wasting the first pick on trying to find a top player there when there are so many holes to fill.

3. Taking a DT. I think this would be worst case scenario. DT is pretty much the only position I'm happy with on the team. Godchaux (74.9, #39) has played well. Vincent Taylor graded out to a 76.3 but was unranked. Which begs the question how can he be graded higher than Godchaux and be unranked? Weird. Hood and Williams are both in the low 60s. Then Pittman and Spence are mid-high 50s. Basically DT is the one position where they have both talent and depth. It's ... odd ... that Kipers final mock has them taking a DT.

My personal take is that - assuming no trades and nothing crazy falling - I'd like to just snatch up Andre Dillard and put him at RT. The OL is atrocious and protecting whatever QB it ends up being will be important.

Dolphins should prob focus on trading down & trading picks this year for better picks next year & fully embrace the multiyear rebuild.

Guys DK can do exactly what he did in college (when healthy) and be quite valuable in the NFL. With his size and speed defenses are bringing the safety over to help. Just getting doubled helps the rest of the offense significantly.

I think the Jernigan resigning probably means he's off the board for them at 25, though if he's still around in the first half of the second round maybe they'd try to move up if the price was right. With that said, drafting another injured player likely to miss most/all of their first year seems a bit on brand for a Philly team, so who knows.
Gathering from context that the "he" in your second paragraph is Jeffery Simmons?

Tom Cable is gone so I think that Seahawks mode of drafting is mostly done, although their board is still weird enough compared to other teams that we could see something funny

Looks like DK Metcalf is gonna be Chef.

I fully expect the Giants to not leave the first round with a rookie QB or Josh Rosen.

They definitely won't pick Haskins. Black quarterbacks don't get picked early in the first unless they can run or are named Byron Leftwich. Given how Gettleman has treated black stars on football teams, I doubt he's gonna break the mold.

I for one am shocked that the guy who beat his pregnant girlfriend and was let off on child abuse because the police "know there was a crime committed but can't say for certain which of them did it" continues to be a scumbag with telling his (again) pregnant wife that she needs to be afraid of him.

nath,

Yeah, Simmons, sorry. Thoughts on where he should and will go?

ETA: Good lord on those tweets re: Reek. Was this part of the evidence that the DA had when he declined to prosecute?

With the 29th pick on the NFL draft the Kansas City Chiefs select Hollywood Brown, WR, Oklahoma.

Great once and still high profile but annoying, out dated and egotistical
