Feels like every team would ideally be built around a tier 1 qb along with some special players (Lombardi would call these blue chippers but his criteria for that was far too low). You get 4-5 special players around a great qb (I'm thinking Packers with Favre title year along w/ maybe the Pats, etc) and you're set as long as you don't have any weak links to attack.
This whole draft puts that on a platter for you. We each get to pick those special guys around our qb. Dropoff from Cam to the next guy is less than the blue chip status of someone like Donald or Mack imo, like everything it's a cost/benefit analysis. I'm not sure about Ramsey specifically but I've always put a premium on secondary play (based on how I've always played Madden anyway - lots of cover two man and I play as the MLB w/ no responsibilities due to it being a MLB blitz, sometimes play as SS on a blitz there with cover 1 and just run free wherever). I basically play pretty vanilla and hope for the dealer to bust instead of blitzing (like most guys) and exposing myself.
re: d line play A push up the middle is so much tougher to deal with than from the outside w/ the quick throws nowadays. But ultimately it's a little moot and there's more than one way to skin a cat as long as you have talent. Cam seems too inaccurate for here but you take the good with the bad with him. Special guy obviously. I don't know if he's as good a thrower as Cunningham was, but that guy won two MVP's in the era of great QB play of the 80s and early 90s (Montana, Marino, Elway, Moon, etc).
Well, here's the thing. I know my valuations are a little different than most here, but there was still a limited number of QBs I was comfortable with being the head of my team. Cam is in that tier for me and there's really only one guy left who still is, and he's not as good. Everything else is a significant roll of the dice in some direction if you're trying to get QB play good enough to win something like this.
I had Cam ahead of a few QBs who went before him and while if it came down to the undrafted guy I would have rolled the dice on him sliding, I thought Cam was too good to take that chance, since it only takes one owner who believes in him like I do to take him before I get the chance in R2, and that owner has two opportunities to do it.
If Donald had been available, I was planning to take Donald but I believe he's the only non-QB of a caliber to merit consideration at that point. I still got a premium player at a key position with my second pick so I'm happy.

Vindication!
