Since that game, Messi has played 10 ties where he failed to either score or assist. He's lost all 10.

Back in the late 00s Barca and Madrid could just buy up every world class player they felt like and dominated the market because they have independent TV deals getting them 140m a season whereas Utd/Liverpool/Chelsea etc all had 40m a year.

PL teams have enough money to compete with them on transfers and wages + City/PSG are now a real force. Gonna be much harder for Barca to rebuild in this climate than ever before.

How willing are Barca players to let a coach do his thing? If the new coach comes in and wants to bench Suarez/Busquets/Pique/Alba will the players go along with that? If he wants to give Messi a rest every now and then will he go along with that?

I'm probably just an idiot but I feel like Barca should just try to make Coutinho work next season instead of loaning him out again. Put him in as an AM with De Jong and Pjanic behind him, Messi up top and 2 wingers. Puig can share time with Coutinho.
