i do hope that mcbust & leon manage to drag the loilers into the playoffs, if only bc it'll be hilariously sad how beat down they'll be by that point

any opponent's gameplan will obv be to just wear them the **** out
vegas or whoever would work them to death

anahiem did this to them in OT, basically just held onto the puck and skated around until they got too tired and had to shift off the ice then they began playing regular hockey again and won

Chicago offered absolutely nothing 5:5 all game, wpg shot themselves in the foot early on special teams but that Chicago team is still bad.

other teams are AAXXr, KKXXr. habs a good rundown. in a big field, 5 on 5, we do well. when things shorten up, powerplay o or d, we struggle. we have depth but they break out the aces.

Mikheyev looking like a real steal at this point to me. (free from KHL) Big rangy fast guy always hunting the puck, making good decisions and showing nice touch and imagination at the same time.

Can someone familiar with English professional hockey tell me what the equivalent level is? I have to judge off a sample of one but JFC that penalty was worse than the ones I took when I was 12. Literally one of the worst I've seen my whole life.

It's a cool story anyway with converted soccer goalie between the pipes but my god... Seeing that makes me want to pack up my skates and start playing pro in London

It's not professional level at all. Semi-pro here means probably not paying for the ice time.

It's 4th tier English hockey.

I doubt there are any countries where 4th tier is professional. The countries are either too small or not interested enough in hockey. The German 3rd division team that I go to play watchable hockey and have a great old barn, but while it's pro, players probably don't make more than anyone working a random office job. They used to have two imports over from NA every season who didn't even play major junior there but were competely ripping it up here.

jesus, i wasted my 20s in poker when i could have been galavanting across the world getting free ice time

thanks for the input - was absolutely shocked to see that penalty, really drives home how much of a star petr cech must be

kind of reminds me of the attention billy butler got when some people learned he spent his retirement dominating recreational softball leagues

I just looked this up, two of the more memorable imports we had were Darcy Vaillancourt, who played in NCAA III (Whatever that is) before coming over and went 34 goals, 35 assists in 32 games, the other was Brendan Sanders, also NCAA III, who went 29-45-74.

So you can tell the level of hockey isn't great, but it's a lovable team (though called the Indians and with a logo that would be under protest in north America) with a great set-up although it leads to some bizarre stuff. For example, the home opener looked like this:

All I know about British hockey is there is some club that imports former NA enforcers and they become the high skill players.
