Tampa up 3-0, looking good early. I’m good with all the award winners I guess...Hedman is NHL’s best defenseman though. It’s trashtastic that the Norris is the best offensive defenseman usually, but such is life I suppose.

Tonight I don’t know who I like...see it as a coin flip, and in that case I would take the Stars getting +135 everywhere I’m looking. I think I’m probably just going to watch and not bet, but will update here if I change my mind.

Admittedly the only time I've seen Matheson play is during the play-in series against the Isles (though I saw a lot of him then, thanks NHL schedule makers), but from my impression you can't really call him a worse Letang unless you mean that he's got all of Letang's deficits and none of the quality.

Someone suggested that Pitt could just but him out and get a bunch of cap space for the next two years. But his buyout would be on the books until 2032 (lol) and it doesn't really fit earlier speculation about the Pens maybe having an internal cap for now.

ya i saw earlier it was held up bc they didn't tell hornqvist yet and he has a ntc
even if that saves them he'll find some other piece of trash somewhere else

fancychartz i saw earlier showed that hornqvist is still quite productive, while matheson is like dead replacement level, but makes $4.9m for 6 more years, so

no clue why these old eyetest donks think he's any good, probably bc he's always injuring ppl

Do these dummy GMS have any idea that they've might have made a poor trade? Are they completely blind sided when the deal is announced and everyone thinks it's terrible and can't make sense of it?

Somehow Rutherford has been GM of three cup winners!! I guess there is lots of variance in GMing when every GM is a donk.
