Our incorrects:

xander biscuits and mic_check12 opted for domestic ref Sergei Karasev, who despite being a big Slayer fan couldn't get a game late in the tournament.

Felix Brych was an incredibly dangerous pick from the outset, as is any pick where the ref's nation might go far. That said, he seemed to disappear at the same time as the rest of his countrymen did and give YKY, kingweed, LFC_USA, LostOstrich, Eric T, Bob Dobelina and eleanor60 an incorrect and the sheep answer.

Dara D opted for Enrique Caceres, but the Paraguay ref couldn't get out of the group stages.

Ravshan Irmatov watched over Croatia schooling Argentina but didn't see anything after that, giving Fatal Checkraise and eyebooger incorrect answers.

Gianluca Rocchi looked like a decent pick, being from a UEFA country that isn't there, but the furthest he got was the last sixteen game between Brazil and Mexico, making vruuuuk, NicReynolds and PeteBlow wrong.

Matthew Conger should stick to rugby and maybe lukethefluke should as well

Jabonator opted for Antonio Lahoz, but the Spanish ref could only get two group games.

Janny Sikazwe seemed a pretty likable guy but, like Lahoz, the Zambian was only able to get two group games, giving Giroudgeous an incorrect answer.

Mark Geiger was correctly identified as being useless in the Colombia/England thread, this ensued and despite getting that game he got nothing afterwards, leaving Schlitz mmmm blank.

Our last incorrect was Malang Diehdiou, he had a decent tournament getting two group games and the Belgium/Japan thriller, but nothing after that, so Booker Wolfbox is our final incorrect of the quiz.

There were seven possible correct answers, with final ref Nestor Pitana not getting a late calf strain to free someone who was already a correct answer anyway, Pitana having already reffed the quarter against Croatia. He was unused, as was Alireza Faghani, the well regarded Iranian who oversaw the 2016 Olympic final, and the veteran from 2014 Sandro Ricci was also unused. So who was?



Of course Cuneyt Cakir was the most used answer, giving S.K, Cinarocket, envelope, Nemesis, Steve Yzerman fan and Jack W a correct answer as he took the England v Croatia game.



The strategy that didn't work for Rocchi worked for Bjorn Kuipers, the former Champions League final ref who did this season's Europa League final gave mw828, Planetist, Namath12 and Vilica correct answers.

Our next correct reffed Brazil against Belgium and Plop/Real this year:



Milorad Mazic looked a decent pick and JMurder3, teejayC, rtspurs and MindFckr all punted on the Serbian to get a late game.
