Is it not just the obvious conclusion that Fields hasn't looked very good or game ready, and if anything is just being dangled as a decoy? I forget the euphemism for when a qb is dumb as a post; simplified playbook or streamlined offense or something? A qb sneak is not even supposed to matter who lines up as qb and "the guy they never let pass" might be even a bit more of a giveaway.

Against SEC teams not named Vanderbilt he's thrown 3 passes. 6 in the second half already comfortably ahead of Vandy for a QBR of 60. A few designed runs against LSU and I don't think he even played a snap against Florida. To me it sounds like a guy who hasn't been able to learn more than a couple of pass plays and they figure other teams are now aware of exactly which plays those are. Or maybe the coaches just decided,"Let's go with the smaller, weaker, slower, and stupider guy rather than this really awesome looking specimen who's just carving us up in practice."

I feel like Fromm getting injured would pretty quickly demonstrate *why* this guy's not out there. But I'm sure Harvard would still gladly take him to help beat down the Yalies.

I don’t know why he’s not playing more. Kirby isn’t an offensive guy so maybe he just doesn’t know how to evaluate QBs. I thought Eason should’ve gotten his job back last year after he got healthy again. Kirby just loves Fromm for some reason.
