Of course, Gettleman gonna stick with Eli and draft Saquon. Can't get the hint that the Giants need to rebuild. They aren't a RB away from the Super Bowl though Saquon is hella good and they could do worse.
I would say that Saquon wouldn't be the difference maker, except I watched Dallas this year and realized that's not entirely true.

Still, there's a great chance that the right qb would be the better option. Question is, who's the right qb?

Lamar to Odell and I will watch 16 Giants games a year. Saquon will be good player and a terrible pick for whoever takes him.

But he's tall and white, you can't teach that

He's like a poor man's Jake Locker! What team wouldn't want that at the top of the draft?

So my QB board right now is basically Jackson/Rosen at the top, Mayfield just a bit behind them, Darnold lower but still a first-round pick, and Allen... is a massive project I wouldn't touch in the top 75.

I haven't really gotten to watch much film yet, though, not with my regular-season responsibilities.

Top non-QB prospects I'm hearing so far: RB Saquon Barkley, CB Minkah Fitzpatrick, G Quentin Nelson. Not far behind them is EDGE Bradley Chubb. Roquan Smith of Georgia seems like the consensus off-ball LB.

Hearing buzz about Maryland WR D.J. Moore as a Stefon Diggs-type sleeper. (And not just because they both went to Maryland, although I'm sure that's a reason Moore is being overlooked so far.)

DJ Moore is going to be a really good pro considering the numbers he put up with the garbage he had a qb though he didn't catch a td from a lb forced to play qb like diggs

How does Calvin Ridley stack up as the (I believe) #1 WR? Average, better than average, or worse than average for a #1?

I would say Ridley is below or worse than average for the #1 overall WR in a draft.

I'd take him over the crap from last year or at least the 1st round guys.
I'd also take him over the crap from 2 years ago although the best WRs were taken later (Thomas/Hill)
I'd take Cooper over Ridley although their probably comparable.
4 years ago had a stacked class (Evans, OBJ, Cooks, Landry, etc.)

So I guess it's average or slightly below. I'm not super pumped about Ridley but then again the only guys I've been excited about in my lifetime are Fitz, Moss, Andre, Calvin and Julio.

Miami really going to move on from Tannehill?

I think Mayfield makes some sense but not on the Dolphins.

Cards-if they don't trade for Smiff
Steelers-let him sit a year
Chargers-Rivers isn't getting younger
Jets-he could start there year 1
Bills-if they could move on Tyrod?

Maybe not this year, but next year. Tannehill has a 37-40 record, will be 30 before the start of the season and hasn't played in a year and a half with a bum knee.

Maybe the Redskins should draft him. Cousins has a 26-30-1 record, will be 30 before the start of the season and hasn't played meaningful football in a year and a half with a bum team.

Stills went to Oklahoma, same as Mayfield, so I wouldn't put too much stock into that.

I don't think Miami needs to move on from Tannehill, but then, I am also of the "If a QB is the best player on your board, take him even if you got one" school of thought, for the most part. Tannehill's 30 next year, not 25.

That said, Lamar Jackson is going to be the BPA for a long time on Thursday night.

Why's that? I'd love for the Giants to nab him 2nd overall.

Because he lacks, uh, certain traits that teams want in their quarterback prospects. Not like that Josh Allen.

The Browns have a better shot of picking someone good than the Giants taking Lamar.

Or Josh Allen being not a bust since only like one person with his college profile ever panned out.

You're implying that he won't be drafted early because he's black.

and short, and has small hands, and didn't come from a pro-style offense in college where he had to make progressive reads.

(for the record i don't think any of those characteristics above matter in the grand scheme of things)

Given how small he is overall I'd be concerned if he could stand up to punishment and would for sure sit him year one if my team didn't have a good OL.

Sitting a guy year one who's best attribute is his legs is really bad.
