This has to be the most fascinating qb offseason ever. The turnover is going to be yuuuuuge

Bears keep getting linked to a WR but I don't believe Pace makes that same mistake again.

Doesn't Sam Darnold seem like the most obvious bust ever? On the Mark Sanchez and Matt Leinart path but who knows.

Being tall, white and not growing up poor makes his odds of making it as a QB is much better than Lamar Jackson.

Well, there’s a reason the same 9 teams make the WSOP final table very year.

And it ain’t luck.

if Darnold started week 1, he'd be the youngest to do so ever so he's too young to call an obvious bust I think but I never really watched him, I just glossed over scouting reports I wouldn't take him in rd 1.

Mason Rudolph mocked at 15th overall is quite the stretch, think they'd just trade up and get whoever they want if that's the case.

Tunsil being not at least an above avg player right away surprised me and Miami. Sheesh.

John Ross is a hilarious bust, 0 pass receptions rookie season, benched as a healthy scratch, eventually IR'd with a "shoulder injury nudge nudge wink wink".

Get a little tilted at these mock guys getting by without having to back their opinions with the ability to bet against them. Would love to bet on Lamars draft position, O/U, #QB taken, anything.

Me too. Walter Football has the Falcons taking a CB in the first round. Since we just broke off Desmond Trufant AND Robert Alford, I see no way the Falcons go CB in the 1st.

I really want to see how some of the defensive prospects look at the combine. Bradley Chubb and Roquan Smith will SOAR up draft boards if they show out as well as the film they put out

Walter football are total clowns/hacks; among many ridic things (just look at nath's zone reads today for one on twitter) just a few days ago they said both darnold/jackson were returning, it got reported by some god damn reason by stupid sites out there and darnold said he's going into the draft today. Ignore them and find someone reputable.

Yeah walter football and anyone who works there are the worst. Case in point

Same guy said today Darnold was considering going back to USC, two hours later he'd declared

Is Lamar Jackson an NFL quarterback? The short answer is yes. Enough teams have liked and continue to like him at the position.

You’ll see lots of people begin to be more definitive about Jackson as a quarterback, but not every team likes Jackson at the position. Enough scouts have gone through the Louisville program, spoken with coaches and echoed similar concerns about offense complexity, whether he can be a vocal leader, and how confident he'll be when responsibilities grow. Drafting a quarterback is about trust, and Jackson will enter the process needing to establish trust in his ability to handle an NFL offense.
WR maybe?

Who would you recommend are some of the best follows for draft day chatter?

Walter is not a good writer. He does satirical mock drafts that are supremely unfunny. Like hack comedy to the point where you'd think that it's some kind of mockery of hack comedy.

Kind of nuts that these sites basically say "sources" and then therefore offer a sense of reliability. They can make up almost anything without being held to the journalistic standards actual professionals deal with.

Lamar Jackson has declared for the draft. I would love for him to be drafted to a non browns team.

I don't disagree. On the right team, either of them could produce. I see Chubb as Gore-like, and Sony as kind of a Tevin Coleman. Neither is Gurley, imo.

Sony has actually made the biggest strides, despite getting the less coverage over the majority of his time with the Dawgs. I expect him to be the more surprising of the two. They're both awesome guys and extremely coachable, so they may exceed expectations.

If I were a team, I'd be super excited to get my hands on Roquan. He's by far our best contribution to this year's draft.

Hue doesn't adjust his system to talent, so Lamar going there would be a disaster at QB at least.

I remember also being skeptical of the Kamara trade, for the obvious reasons, like "lol RBs" and "If Kamara is so good why wasn't he even the starter at Tennessee?"

Now, of course, it seems like "Because Butch Jones is an idiot; Kamara just needed to find a team and coach that were the right fit for him."

Found this on page 1:

Whoops.

My top QBs are Jackson, Rosen, Mayfield. I keep going back and forth on the order, but if I picked #3 overall and I had to take the last guy standing I wouldn't be upset.

Darnold is more of a project and needs time.

Josh Allen is going to go much higher than he deserves to, he played badly in a soft conference.

Darnold / Jackson / Rosen are all very young; they'll be 21-year-old rookies for their entire rookie season. All younger rookies than DeShone Kizer, who was the youngest QB in the draft last year.

3. Allen- lol how are those shoulders
4. Foster- lol he went to Alabama ok lol
5. Corey Davis - don't know what's under the hood how can you draft him thus early.
6. Trubisky- makes sense
7. Hooker- he's good but injury concerns only started 1 year
8. Barnett- ok i guess
9. Williams- lol not this early
10. Watson- lol no

Lol lots of busts in that top ten. They have Dalvin Cook going in the 1st which is hard to see happening after one of the worst combines ever.

Jackson won't go for at least 15 picks though (I'd be shocked), so taking at 3 is spew. Draft gets weird around this part like Watson last year or Bridgewater a couple years ago where you were fine taking them high but realized nobody else is.

Then again you can't wait forever, Watson wasn't projected really till end of first round and he still went off 12th. 3 seems spew but I admit it's hard to gauge where to trade down, certainly before Arizona peels off just b/c of dire QB need even if I don't expect them to want Lamar but I expect htem to move up if they want a QB or else punt because it makes no sense to stay put and get QB #5 of the draft or something unless they do like Lamar and think he'll fall that far.

tl;dr game theory

Wanna say I was pro Lattimore being top 5 overall but I'm not entirely sure. His only knock was injury concerns.

My top 5 was Garrett 1 then Thomas, Lattimore, Fournette, Hooker in some order. Was pretty excited when Lattimore fell to 11 because three WRs went ahead of him.

Problem with a QB is that even if you think other teams won't jump on him at a certain pick,, a franchise QB is so valuable that if you think you've found your guy, you gotta take him.

I haven't done much looking at prospects yet; I'll probably get started once the NFL season is over. (Even if Draft Breakdown goes down, I think most of their cutups are still available on YouTube.)

I wouldn't complain if the Giants grabbed Jackson 2nd overall. Eli is done and the only reason he's held in high regard is nostalgia. If cutting him didn't result in such a huge cap penalty, he'd probably be gone.

Of course, Gettleman gonna stick with Eli and draft Saquon. Can't get the hint that the Giants need to rebuild. They aren't a RB away from the Super Bowl though Saquon is hella good and they could do worse.
