Agree you can't mock trades in a standard mock. Was just pointing out what I'd expect them to do IRL.
It's interesting we both project Mayfield to Jets when their GM is the guy who drafted HACK & Allen will be on the board probably.
PFF has Mayfield as by far their #1, even after adjusting for the offense. No idea how good they are historically at this stuff, though.
PFF scouts production I think, not so much traits, and Mayfield had bonkers production, including against teams that were otherwise very good (TCU and Georgia for example). Mayfield set the record for single-season ANY/A and single-season passer rating in 2017-- breaking the records
he set in 2016.
I just have a suspicion that as ridiculous as Mayfield played teams are gonna have to overlook the height thing. It's not impossible they don't, though! That said, the Jets front office might be under some pressure to show results a little sooner if they draft another QB-- they're not just gonna be able to leave him inactive for two years like they did with Christian Hackenberg.

He probably will go in the first in actuality but he has a lot of indicators that are concerning-- mediocre production for an old college player (he'll turn 24 during his rookie season) and very poor athleticism. Doesn't mean he can't succeed, but his ceiling is going to be limited.
