Dude is 6'7 210lbs, shot 45% from 3 in college, almost 90% from the ft line with a 7'2 wingspan and won defensive player in college, he would've been better than Reddick and you can play him & Covington on the wings. I hope for the 76ers that Zhaire can give them something next year but iono.
Exo,

Thanks for solidifying my opinion that the trade was great value for the Sixers.

Capone I think Zhaire should get way more minutes than that.

I'm all-in on him and his abilities to affect their team performance when he's on the court. Ben Simmons is a NUT, a PG in a PF's body who can defend any position. IMO the best way to use a player like that is to play him with other weirdo players.

lol at hating that trade, Zhaire's median is Marcus Smart with more offensive polish, which imo is about as perfect a fit as you can get for that crazy team. I think they should be grooming him to take JJ's role fairly quickly.

I agree.

I also think if Fultz can shoot at all (which I realize is not likely, but seems more likely now than it did at the end of the year), he's going to get a fair bit more than 18 minutes per game.

Zhaire scored 11.3 points & 1.8 assists last year in college at Texas Tech. What about that screams offensive polish or being ready to play big NBA minutes right away?

Still a good trade obviously.

I think as fans we can only hope that the Celtics come out healthy & look unbeatable cause i can't stand another year of GS cruising through the playoffs.
7 game series, down 3-2. Cruising?

Amir also hasn't technically been resigned, so there are still technically more PF minutes available. I think the most likely scenario is that they sign someone like O'Quinn as a back-up 4/5, keep Richaun stapled to the bench, have RCo play a decent amount of smallball 4, and rotate Fultz/Smith/Redick/TJ through the ~64 non-Simmons guard minutes. If Fultz doesn't suck, I don't think TJ is going to get all that many minutes either.

Mainly his shooting, and his age. Right now he's one of those players where you look at his offensive numbers and can't fathom why the team plays so much better when he's on the court, but then you watch the games and he's EVERYWHERE.

I did a lot of research because every insider told me Denver wanted him bad, and I was floored by how many high-IQ things he did on both ends.

We shall see. Seems like he did most of his damage on dunks & only shot 1 three per game. I think he's an entirely different type of player than Smart so the comparison is kind of awkward, but he definitely could end up being good.

I am quite confident he will shoot a better % than Smart cuuuuz, it'd be impossible not to.

Yeah they are definitely different players, but watching their games I get that same feeling that this player who doesn't have any skills is terrorizing the game on both ends... if that even makes sense.

+1, funky marcus smart at the 2 is so great with this team. preferring mikal over zhaire plus an unprotected pick is just a stereotypical bad GM move.

never mind the fact that there's plenty of sharps who already prefer zhaire, lets just make a blanket assumption that they end up providing equal value. well guess what, one of them comes with an unprotected pick. you take that one. zzzzZZZzzzzz

he already has training camp tape of a velvety smooth 3 pt shot.

unprotected pick in a year where we could see high-schoolers finally get drafted...sign me up Brett.

also the only reason they got that pick to begin with was dealing away michael carter williams like 5 years ago.

I think the only person hating on the trade is Exo? Seems obviously good.

Another thing bad GMs do is decide someone is good at something based on how they perform against chairs & similar defenses

Yeah I don’t know what to think of the deal but exo is normally wrong. Biggest worry with zhaire is he can’t shoot and that doesn’t work well with Simmons but he’s super young and will eventually get JJ’s minutes and possibly gets more against a team like Boston.

I think Boston, Philly, and Toronto had winning records against West playoff teams.

What if you did top 4 vs top 4

Golden State 7-1
Boston 6-2
OKC 5-3
Houston 4-4
Toronto 4-4
Portland 2-6
Philly 2-6
Cleveland 2-6

If the Warriors didn't exist, would the East vs West skew even be a thing?

noel to OKC

decent move but be tough to play him in their best lineups since he would be the 4 and they have roberson as 1 of their wings.

Wonder how much Noel's getting--2 year deal per Y!.

I bet it's almost nothing. Lol at you clowns thinking he would make any more than absolutely little $$$. I wonder if he realizes if he burned probably 60 million dollars by turning down that deal with Dallas last year. Possibly one of the dumbest decisions by a player in NBA history with a contract.

haha, i didn't say that the West wasn't much better than the East, I just said it is actually less of a gap then in prior seasons which the youth emergence in Philly/Boston. Boston was without their two highest paid players last post season. A couple of years ago the West just had a massive advantage with Spurs, OKC, Clippers, Memphis, GS, Houston all being beasts. Now, there is a huge gap after Rox/GSW. Also, complaining about the East/West talent gap is pointless when the West is really not that competitive itself re:GSW
