I wonder what the value of a NTC is for players who aren't shoe-in maxes. Like if Nurkic is willing to take 4 million less a year over 4 but wanted a NTC, do you give it?

Thats the only deal of that nature I can see right now that would help them get off Crabbes salary next summer without losing a significant future asset. Some expiring contract might get hurt or fall off a cliff this year though.

Does Melos no trade clause still work?
I like this. I could see him waiving it to return to NYC and a starting spot, no sacrifices,

could swap carroll's expirirng for Singler's expiring to match salary

Ballmer is way more on the level Lebron wants to be and he can be the GOAT Clipper if he so chooses, also.... fukk the lakers first and foremost.

Nurk would be a 25% max (~$25mm). I think it would take way more than a $4mm x4 (16%) discount to get him a NTC.

Blake Griffin said he couldn't get one from the Clippers. They seem to be reserved for All NBA type players.

A player must have eight years in the league and four years with the team to be allowed a no trade clause.

I dunno if Melo would want to play for BK but BK could just buy him out and then he can choose his next team. Singler has 5m in 2019 so doubt Nets would want him (unless it is a team option)

D Russ and Crabbe for Melo would work. Would help Nets tank next year too.

Or Crabbe and 1 of Carroll/Lin for Melo/Abrines

Either way, it makes sense. Not sure why Melo wouldn't waive his no trade if he can choose his next team.

So Dwight Howard has basically never got along with coaches/teammates everywhere he has played. At this point, why even sign him?

Everyone has a value though. He's gonna get paid pretty good by the Nets so he probably won't want much $.

If you're the Wizards and you're capped out+at a crossroads where you feel like you have to try and win sooner than later, might as well gamble on Dwight.

A Rivers opting in to 12mill, was expected

Dedmon opting in to 7mill....Man, that's gotta feel weird. If this was summer of '16 he gets 4/65.

How exactly does a buyout work against the cap? I've been seeing mixed explanations online.

Dwight was owed ~$24 M. Let's say he takes $18 M in a buyout. Is his cap hit for the Nets $18 or $24?

Then say he signs for $4 M with someone. As far as I can tell the Nets get a set-off there that is ($4 M - vet minimum) / 2. So that would be the Nets getting ~ 1.5 M off the cap figure.

Danny Green opting in for 10mill. Spurs must be paying him under the table.

This year would appear to be his last chance at getting a decent long-term deal.

There is way more cap space around the league next year

Danny Green isn't what he was guys.

4 seasons ago he had a 16 PER and 60% TS%; this year he's down to 10 PER and 50% TS%. Like he's still likely bringing good D but he isn't that amazing anymore. His minutes are slightly down too and he's missed some games (likely due to injury).

I'd be surprised if he goes anywhere after that Sexton pick, instantly their 2nd best player. Keep Hood and Love, shed the JR Smith types and see what else can be brought in.

Reports it's down to LAL and Cleveland.

I doubt Sexton > Love and I hate Love most of the time.

Love is looking a little old to me, and I really like Sexton. If he's not 2nd then at least 3rd, which is good.
