Frank could definitely be Most Improved Player. If he gets all the way to 'rotation level guard' he's a lock imo.

I was originally thinking of Kyrie over Hayward as well, but against the top in the West his D is just too much of a liability. Really good point about trying to increase variance by hoping Kyrie goes into God mode.

The West is just so much better than the East talent wise. I would probably take Harden-PG-Butler-KAT-Dray over the best from the East as well but it's close.

The only thing the East has going for it is youth.

Really wish there was more shooting in Frank's grind video. I'm pretty optimistic he's going to show some very solid improvements from last season. Seems like a guy whose got the work ethic to make a solid jump season to season.

I'm sure all the non-frank nba players are sunbathing on a beach right now and those videos of making layups in the gym is strong evidence Frank is going to improve a lot. that being said he can't be worse than last season

from The BBall Index:

Only 5 players graded A- or better in Perimeter Shooting, Finishing, and Playmaking last season per their competency grading model.

Spoiler:

Steph Curry
Gary Harris
Kevin Durant
Nikola Jokic
Bradley Beal

A- means a player is rated in the 80+ percentile for that category.

If the Rockets are trying to trade Ryan Anderson and draft considerations for a wing and the list of potential targets includes Kent Bazemore, JR Smith, Tyler Johnson, Nicolas Batum, DeMarre Carroll, Marvin Williams, Danilo Gallinari, and Courtney Lee, which teams should accept an offer that includes Houston's 2019 first?

I feel like Houston should be trying to see if getting off of that additional year for Batum is worth it for Charlotte to not insisting on getting a first. The Clippers, in their pursuit of Kawhi, should only make a deal if they think Anderson is a better fit next to him than Gallo. And most of those teams should be trying to holding out as long as possible to try and squeeze another first out of Morey. Maybe the Rockets haven't officially signed second round pick De'Anthony Melton yet so that his draft rights can be included in a potential trade.

What about a trade of Joakim Noah for Luol Deng? The Knicks would save about $1 million and the Lakers would get someone who could probably still eat up some center minutes. I think there is a decent chance he could still provide at least mediocre production. Maybe Noah would agree to reduce the guarantee on his final year so that the Lakers would take the same cap hit if they ended up waiving him instead of Deng next summer. (Or maybe he wants to be stretched so Thibs can sign him in Minnesota.)

If LeBron and Lance Stephenson can be on the same team, then why not? There is some chance that it will be entertaining.

One guy blew in LeBron's ear. The other royally dissed LeBron's hometown.

More unplayable than Deng? It seems there is no chance they would play Deng. There has to be some chance that Noah is playable. Not necessarily good, but playable on the level of some veteran brought in to be the third center for the minimum for 10mpg during the regular season then doesn't play in the playoffs. There might be value in decreasing the wear and tear of the LeBron-as-center idea that has been suggested.
