Eh, Rockets got bigger goals than the Nuggs.

Not sure how you play IT vs GS. Not sure how you switch everything with IT either. Although at league minimum he possibly helps you get through the regular season and get HCA.

OKC not sure, how does he get more than 15 mins a game on that team? Move Russ to the 2? Seems weird, but they definitely could use a 3rd scorer as their entire team after Playoff P/Russ is defensive roleplayers.

Trevor Ariza, Tyreke Evans, Wayne Ellington all were better options and also all of those optiond didnt help Denver get outta the tax

STOP. A healthy IT2 is far different than what we saw last year.

Backup point would be Harden.

It's 2mill though, that's what the 10th man gets. Low risk/high reward.

The C's IT is prob gone but just saying if he is more like the Suns/Kings IT, then this is his ideal role.

Ariza yes, but he's not coming here to be a backup. Ellington and Tyreke are guards, we have plenty of guards, we needed someone who could play the 3-4. Besides, Tyreke is a little too ball dominant, I think they are hoping Fultz can take on a role similar to him. I would not have been opposed to him otherwise.

Agree on Reke. I'd rather pay him than get Chandler.

But I don't think they had a chance at Ariza though. Seems like he was sick of playing in late April/May and just wanted to kick back in Phx. He signed with them like 10 mins into FA.

edit: @philly...At some point a player is just better than another guy and you scrap fit. Tyreke >>> Chandler.

Saric, Cov, Simmons all have 3-4 versatility as well.

Saric is way to slow to play the 3. I just don't think Tyreke would have been interested in his role here. I'm sure we inquired about him, we were interested at the trade deadline.

I actually think Chandler could bounce back in a contract year this year. He was decent in Denver up until last year.

Hawks got a 2023 pick swap. Thats huge! Assuming there are no protections?

Thats one of those footnote trades that could end up making Schlenk looking real smart if Nets somehow still suck.

Maybe its a 2nd round pick swap. That would make a lot more sense.

A first round pick swap would be absolutely crazy.

there was some quote by evans' friend or something saying evan's wasn't interested in going to the warriors, taking a secondary role, and only scoring like 11 ppg. he wants his #s. no team trying to win should touch him

Yeah, Saric is more 4-5 versatility.

It's possible they couldn't have gotten Tyreke. Agree with that.

Isn't that sound thinking on a 1 year deal?

I also don't think you can discount the fact that if we signed Tyreke he can't be traded until Dec 15. Chandler can be traded right away. I think if we get Kawhi the Spurs are going to want us to take on Mills or Pau and his expiring will be important in matching salaries.

Yeah, fair enough.

I still think Phi/Minn talk about Butler before the offseason is over. Guess it is possible Phi wouldn't want to pay him the max at age 30 but if they can't get Kawhi then it is logical to move onto him.

And I'd say it is logical for Minn to trade him right now as it seems like he doesn't want to re-sign and if they have to pay Towns the supermax then theyre in cap hell. Like we talked a few weeks ago, only the max should count towards the cap. Counting the "super" part just makes it extremely difficult to build a team.

from an individual perspective yes, but still makes him unattractive to teams with real aspirations. like you can't even pretend that you will try to fit? really didn't want the dubs to sign him, though i'm not sure they would have anyway. kerr was going to meet w/him though.

people talk about cousins being a threat to the warriors stability, but i'd worry much more about someone like evans in this scenario.

He's definitely one of the lightest. I'm so jacked because the Murray-Harris-Barton combo has been straight fire for two seasons, and them + Joker was a +12/100 over 1200 possessions last year per CTG.

Their defense will be pretty bad, but the offense could be historically elite.

Yeah Minnesota seems like they are screwed either way with Wiggins/Dieng/Teague contracts. They should use Butler to try and unload some of those since he's probably leaving anyway, but then they are basically giving up.

Offering Klay good money is a good move as well.

Klay got dem Lakers ties.

Klay to the Lakers would be sick. I could see him averaging 30ppg in a larger role.

Im a nerd so I looked it up and in the last 3 years with Steph and KD off the court Klay has averaged 25.3 points per36 with a 56.4 TS. FWIW he scores more with Draymond on than by himself.

Over those 3 years he has averaged 22.8 points per36.

Dont think he has the handle to score a ton more as the featured guy.

Fultz+Chandler+Bayless for Butler+Gibson

Who says no?

Simmons, Butler, RoCo, Saric, Embiid w/ JJ, Gibson, McConnell off the bench is the BTITE; this is a 60+ win team if healthy

Minnesota gets Fultz and MAX cap space next year for 'insert player' while pleasing Wiggles for a guy who was gonna leave anyway in Butler

The thing is, if the Sixers are willing to trade Fultz then he probably hasn't gotten his shot back.
